Edited by: Vort X on 15/09/2007 21:48:01 1. Choose a superior power who threatens you the most 2. Forget your ego, selfishness 3. NAP everyone who thinking the same way 4. Open at least 3 battlefronts in enemy territory with your joint forces
For the first 4 points, we've seen a good example lately, it is how to start a winning startegy. But since we now discuss how to loose, now let's continue on topic.
5. Underestimate your enemy 6. Get back your ego and selfishness again 7. Search for more convenient fights closeby 8. Forget those allies on the far battlefields and leave them alone 9. Start your own war on an ally, search for reason and justify 10. Shoot the small ex-blue guys near your home and watch your friends slaugtered far away
Good job, you might won a battle but at least loosing a war. Mission : Completed
I don't want to call out names but many will recognize themselves who cares to read. The names are always different in time anyways, but the strategy stays. There are no use to point fingers.
I've seen this strategy not only once but many times in the eve history. I think it's so popular that you might want to learn the process too.
Enjoy

I dont understand the 10 days part, does each of those things have to be done on each consecutive day ? and if you take for example two days to complete one of them does that mean you no longer loose your war ? ______________________________

The meaning of the post is not the time, It could be 100 days, it doesn't really matter. The 10 days part used for marketing reasons, to grab some attention (there is a movie similar to the topic title) .

Been there, done that for almost 2 years. Got bored and joined BoB.
Lag produces many whines, but in truth its rather rare and commonly happens only when goons are in question. Having a greater goal and enemies who seriously hate you also helps to increase my fun factor

This is what happens with none pvp based alliances. War, everyone yells YARRRRR and joins up. People start losing ships and they say F this. Others try to mine and rat and their systems are not safe so they say F this. Pvp'rs see that they are the only ones in the gang and say F this. The alliance folds and everyone spits off to different alliances/ do their own thing.
Now if its a pvp based alliance, it takes a whole lot of time and dedication to defeat them. When they lose battles, they chalk it up to experience, not omg we are doomed head to empire 111111!!!!!.
Best thing to do is contract me all your stuff and play WOW or something. Unless u are willing to fight for what u got, in that case send me an eve mail and i join up with ya.

Clue, a recent example for the guide:
Northern & Southern Coalition and IACAAA fighting for the same goal, while the whole drone region started to shoot each other. Last time i checked they were also part and fought for the coalition.
The region should have the power to re-open the northern battlefront, help IACAAA or anything else to split the forces from the OOY steamroll. But it seems I'm misinformed and this is already on the 9th day.

So you say people are getting bored of this good vs. evil war and are having their own regional conflicts again ? Was about time to be honest. Players were reduced to being pro-bob anti-bob or pro-goon, anti-goon and bitter 1-man corp alts tried to keep things running that way. Maybe now people start to show them the finger and think for themselves again. Nice.
Just my personal view of course.
That you have BOB/GOON red or blue doesn't mean that you can't fight your own wars. ___________ I've never been so serious as I am now. No, really. |

?? I know SMASHKill lit up the drone regions the other week, however everyone who was blue to them 3 months ago is blue at the moment... as far as I know...
And SMASHKill never started a war against BoB or MC, they helped RAGoon in 77s area ( along time ago now) and Razor up north as far as I know.
Now that almost sounds like FREGE but I can't be sure, because to be honest, that description doesn't seem to fit anyone...
I'm pretty sure most of Eve don't really care about BoBMcFix vs IACRAGOONAAA etc... I mean, for most people the longer that war stays in 'stalemate' the better.
Anyway, perhaps I don't know enough about who you're referring to to spot them.

My guess is that for some, joining forces with the goons just isn't worth any short term gains. Short term because if Bob and allies were to lose, we know how long it will take before the goons turn on their 'friends' and RA goes back to controlling the real money.

I like your response, it makes sense and to be honest I haven't thought of this. Good point. I'm sick of this war too, and prefer local, smaller warfare than lagbattles 50+ jumps away. This is one of the reasons that I'd prefer to finish this war instead of pulling back at strategically important times.
It happened about 6 months ago in Feyth, then it got steamrolled. It happens now and who knows what happens next. But I have no desire to start it over again from scratch 6 months later.

you answered this post very well with this comment
Originally by: Vort X I'm sick of this war too, and prefer local, smaller warfare than lagbattles 50+ jumps away.
i believe the lag says it all for them tbh, theres to many numbers involved in this war and getting a fight where its bareable was probably seen as to difficult so they looked else where for a little fun
Originally by: Admiral Nova I'm pretty sure most of Eve don't really care about BoBMcFix vs IACRAGOONAAA etc... I mean, for most people the longer that war stays in 'stalemate' the better.
i wouldnt say that, a lot of people are very interested in eve politics both on and off of CAOD and speaking from a industrial point of view those who are building ammo / items / ships are doing very well out of this isk wise so they'll probably want this war to continue on for a long time so they can milk it for all its worth.
Originally by: Vort X But I have no desire to start it over again from scratch 6 months later.
imo it would be very interesting to see how things would turn out if it did start again, especially with the new pos additions that CCP put in the game
would the alliance fortify their system defences more aggressivly?
would the coalation make the mistakes that they did previously?
would both sides still be as battle hardened as they are now?
i think out of all the questions running through my mind about this battle the only question that is clearly obvious to have a "yes" answer to would be this one
would CAOD and local still be a smack haven for some?
either way this war is still far from over and both sides are getting the fight that they want maybe not exactly what they wanted due to the lag and desync crap but still a fight none the less. ---------------------------- BOB 4 LIFE NOT JUST 4 A DAY ----------------------------
