Thol and skull, gunny and omaha & 12speed etc - for their ice cool heads during the fight, their tone of voice, and confidence seemed to spurr the noobs on to victory. Script, somehow when u was in a fleet with him u just knew you'd win. The newer FCs are tricky, cos i'v not flown with many. I won't mention BOS FCs, But Suas/Tolon get's a mention, back in our corp he learned the ropes from us and the FCs in the five/BoB, (practiced using the goons/OSS), and i'm sure now is a thorn in their side :P It's an absolute blast listening in on his fleets nowadays, they seems so much more fun that the fleets of old, where " serious business " was the order of the day. If anyone ever makes a soundboard of him like they did Xirt, u will laugh your arses off at what he says. Shamis is also a cool FC, he gets us to do the most insane things, using insane tactics far from considered " the norm " and we somehow usually come out on top... which is very refreshing for us seasoned vets. will edit more later, food is burning...

Marco Debrault- for being able to think outside the box when it comes to fleets 3. Noobjuice- maybe sexiest voice in eve and ability to take on anything and come up with a good result 4. Tholarim - great control over his gangs 5. Daaarth Sooolo - For being so old fashioned in his approach but still kicking ass with heavy dmg close range bs Flown against 1. Mactep and other RA commanders - Absolute nightmare to fight against 2. Some Bob Fc's - While they dont do anything "innovative" the control and discipline they wield is something to be proud of 3. Balsaz Simon - sp? 4. Xelas fleet commanders for providing many easy kills 5. Yakuza corp FC - Very blobbey tactic wise but did a good job in hiding numbers note: why do so many Bob guys always vote for just their own alliance FC's? They are good but surely you have flown with and against some other good pilots that might be worth a mention instead of the same 5 names all the time.

Fleet commanding in eve is **** easy really. I'd say leading small roaming gangs of 10-20-30, provideded that they get into fights with other fleets and not just run around ganking, is where the real skill is at. From that: Theres a few good BNC fcs i can remember obviously including blacklight eyeshadow and farjung rawstyle Buddrow, except sumtimes he would get a bit impatient, bit like his forums posts and waiting to sobre up. Christo <3 Bigfood isnt bad for a baby. Cmd woodlouse, whilst, contrary to popular belief, he never actually led a fleet, also had useful and knowledgeable input. Would help if he was able to speak properly. I think the thing all of these had that makes a great FC/leader in RL is the balance between having an emotionally detached logic to their choices that really pierces through the fog of battle and at the same time being so involved, so attuned to the smallest scraps of intel that you would swear they were directing a play. ( TWD espesially, He got a good fanboi right here =) Btw, I never got why shin didn't want any excorp members of mine in their pants with them, you don't know what your missing ;-) Anyway, as it turned into a naming fest, I'll move on, these are just most of the guys I can remember right now. However, the best FC I've ever had the plessure of killing under is Zincol. By far. He's head and shoulders above everyone else when he's switched on. I don't really care who you dig out or what you make of that. Although he's a damn tough leader to fly under and thats not everyones cup of tea I'll idmit, as he's really demandind and hates losses, any losses, try losing anything above a frig to stupidity and you'll never hear the end of it, although he's mellowed some the last year. We've had our fair share of disagreements, but it's all good mate. I'm sure we've made enough people quit EVE. That being said though, when he's switched on, you better be somewhere else, there is nobody I know or know of in EVE that have the same tactical knowlage, situational awareness, determination, drive, skill and insight to lead on the battlefield. He have an extreme knowlege in what it takes to turn a battle and come out on top with minimum losses. He is damn good at what he does. I mean that as sincerely as I can put it. There are many good FC's out there, many I considder my friends. But Zinc is by far the best I've ever flown under. I'm supriced by the lack of people who have mentioned him in here. I feel that have something to do with his demanding character. I don't want to turn this post into a beefing thread of FC's I know well. But I support what Flinx said. And I just want to add. I don't fly under half assed FC's for long. Oh... One more thing.... WTH GUYS!!! The same sodding setup????!!11one1?? In smaller gangs, you have to know each pilot you're with, and their strengths and weaknesses, and even their range an ship setups. In big gangs, it's just 'Primary x, primary y'... That being said, I've seen FCs of 200-man fleets doing scouting on two accounts and still calling primaries and firing with their main... True, but not entirly. 200 man fleets are more than just target calling for a good FC. A lot of people make that mistake and lose because of it. Posistioning, reposistioning, focusing on certain task, knowing when to regroup, watching the field develop, controlling what your guys do, etc are all very important in large group warfare. The difference between a "good" FC, and a "great" FC is made when doing these things. Small groups aren't really about FCing. They're just about leadership. I really have issues with someone considering a group of less than 30 a fleet; it's just not the same thing. But really, to each his own. Small groups are only tough if, and only if you don't know who you're flying with... and quite honestly, if this is true, why are you in the group.

He led one of the mixed groups in the "attack" on BoB shipyard. Even though we got stuck 3 jumps out, unable to move, he was motivating, calm, friendly, attentive and funny. He managed to get alot of different pilots of various alliances, with a mix of experience to work as a team. I think he quit the game though. Was a shame.

If a target that is more of a threat is spotted by anyone then they will speak up and targets will be switched. No one has to ask permission to speak, there are no formalities. There is confusion sometimes but never enough to obstruct operations. When you have one set of eyes calling targets, making decisions then you have one set of eyes that will win the fight or lose it. However when you have multiple sets of eyes all capable of determining what is going on, which target is more of a priority, and able to pick each other up, then you will never lose. My vote goes to the guys in Burn Eden, love em or hate em, they are damn good.
