abaddon fitting
After fitting that many cap mods the cap still is not stable with maxed skills.
No other ship has to waste a rediculous ammount of slots just to be able to use their weapons.
Anyone got a way of actually using this ship to shoot something for more than a couple of minutes or is this ship just useless unless tanking with projectiles?

If ya put a nos in there you could be sucking their cap and shooting them in the face with it...
course you'd have to get close.
And i dunno what i'm talking about. Carry on.

Get close with Tachyons?
I have a tech2 fitted Aboddon all skills maxed out I have 6xtachyon II's and 4xCap Recharger II's
Cap isnt a problem unless i try to run my armour rep for any length of time!
I would agree that tachyons / lasers in general need to have there cap usage toned down a little! But im sure all this has already been said in the Epic boost Amarr threads!

If you fit 3 CCC rigs you might be able to remove a cap module or two
But I have to agree with you. Abaddon is PITA to fit with 8 T2 Tachyons.

drop a heatsink for a PDS? Maybe it'll even let you replace a RCU with 2 PDS, who knows.

21 minutes for a full drain seems reasonable when you're using Tachyons. Keep in mind that your overall DPS is actually higher than you think it is when you take into account the fact that you don't need to reload like players that don't use lasers have to. -----

But it takes a rediculous amount of slots just to be able to use your lasers. God forbid I want to put a MWD/ armor rep (need more RCU's).
Oh and also need those tracking mods and sensor boosters.

Loads of ways to go here, 2 open rig slots and you can change it to a medium cap booster : that also gives you quite a lot of cap

OK the Abaddon runnning its 8 tachyons uses 7cap/s less than a megathron running.
7 neutron blaster cannon II with antimatter (3 dmg mods) 2 large armor rep II

I run 8 Tach II's with amarr navy MF.
3 cap recharger II's in mids and 3 CCC rigs. Works a treat for me.

Cap is going down while using a booster. I am trying to avoid booster aswell because I have been doing alot of sustained shooting lately (fkn POS)

Don't bother shooting things like POSs with an Ammar BS but if you have to go with 3-4 lasers to control cap use.
As far as fitting an Abaddon for fleet, don't bother with things like armor reps. The theory of All Gank no Tank comes to mind when dealing with Ammar ships. Go for the cap boosters and pray you aren't primary.
And really, just skip the Abaddon and go for a 7 Tech 2 fitted Geddon. Geddons are cheap to replace and are great fleet ships.

I have 16 mill sp in gunnery with large beam spec lvl 5. Is it too much to ask as an amarr pilot to be able to fill up my highs with lasers and just be able to shoot without BBQing my ship fittings.

I haven't done any PoS takedowns myself, so please let me know if I'm missing something here, but I wouldn't think you would need tracking mods to take down a non-moving PoS or sensor boosters on a ship with a 58Km optimal+falloff and 110Km max targeting range. I'd also hope you'd have some remote rep support. 800 sustained DPS is pretty freakin' high and not having to worry about running out of ammo...

You need the sensor boosters and tracking comps for the fleet battles before your able to shoot at the POS. I set that ship up as a demonstration.
In a real fleet BS I would need an MWD which means even less cap and anotehr RCU II not to mention the tracking comps/sensor boosters
Anyway off to bed for the night will be on tomorrow.
