Hadean is indeed a very intensive Industrial Corp. Where we have a very solid structure with clear and demandin goals set. Both on the individual and team based areas. The website itself is far more then just a pretty face where behind closed doors cater to a wide range of fuctions and tools used for the benifit of the corp as a whole.
WE are a very close knit bunch as a whole as we pretty much in each others pockets as we operate on many tasks as a unit to pull each and everyones recourses together for the benifit of our own advancement. Anyone interested in the yards is more then welcome to drop by our forums linked via our website or drop by our ingame public channel "shop@hdy" new clients are also very welcome too.

I have been part of HDY for almost two months now, and I have nothing but good things to say about my experiences so far. HDY is by far the most organized corporation/guild that I have ever been a part of-in any mmorpg that have I played. HDY's members are friendly, helpful, and most importantly fun.
When I started playing EVE and was looking for a corporation, I felt somewhat overwhelmed by the multitude of corporation's out there. I ended up choosing to join HDY. It was, and has been, the best choice I have made in my EVE career.

I've been a proud member of The Yard since 01/03/03. Ever since then, I have seen this corporation, this FAMILY, grow and evolve into an amazingly close-knit unit, akin to a RL Military unit in it's passion for standing by one another during good times and bad. HDY has a rich, storied history, and every day, I see this corporation grow and evolve into something more than the sum of it's members, continuing to build on the foundations laid down over a year and a half ago.

Indeed, I wholeheartedly agree, and in no way expected to simply waltz in and become a director instantly, however its usualy climbing the ranks thats the challenge, rather than actually becoming a member. I could understand trial periods etc, but flat out refusal due to lack of skillpoints? Hmm.

Which it is evidently wise to prevent, however as I said, a trial period would remedy this without putting forward an image that new players are not welcome.
Just to note: I was refused not because I have been playing less than two months(beta 6 through to last october, left and have now returned), but because I chose to start a new character when I came back to EVE. So you refuse applicants on whether or not they can mine for you well, rather than their knowledge of the game?
Oh, one more point to note there: your recruitment post states that an applicant can contribute to the corp in any way they choose, however in your ingame channel, I was told that mining is a requirement.....odd that.

In fairness to all involved, mining responsibilities are inherently shared by all members of HDY. That being said, there is still plenty of time for you to contribute in other ways, which is when you would have the opportunity to contribute in "any way you choose".
Again, joining HDY is the best choice I have made in my EVE career. I think Entheos has summed it up rather nicely. If your looking for a great corporation, consider HDY.

Thank you for the post bumps Nashal, you've been most helpful.
I believe our website also states that there is a trial period for all applicants to the Drive Yards whereby they are at a Cadet rank. During this period they are expected to try their hand at various tasks within the Drive Yards.
Furthermore, because we are a ship building Corporation mining is an essential task which everyone (including myself) does. Whether we want to or not. You see, in EVE ships are built from minerals, and in turn minerals come from ore which finally has to be mined with an item called a mining laser. Its a cycle which, when broken, means no ships and hence no HDY.
So, contributing in "any way you want" means you can do agent missions (if qualified), combat missions (if qualified), manufacture and production (if qualified) and numerous other tasks.
It also means that your secondary or tertiary tasks include mining. This goes from the cadets all the way up to the CEO and everyone in between. Everyone who has applied to HDY and undergoes the interview process is made aware of these facts up front.

Well that was a tough interview and I'm afraid to say that he wasn't suitable. I think I should elaborate a bit more in this process...
The Interview is probably one of the most important steps, IMHO of joining any corp. It gives the interviewer a chance to see what the peson is like, if their playing style fits into the corp ethos and if they will mesh with the corporate strcuture. For the interviewee it gives them a first hand chance to actually speak to someone in the corp, usually someone who was been it it for a long time , to get and idea of what the corp is like and also address any concerns & queries they might have.
So to thos eof you at their who would like to join but not to keen on the interview side of things..Dinane worry. Its nowehere near as bad as you might think, In fact its probably the best thing you could do.

Anyway, i suspect a new thread might be in order seeing all the crap posted by some less happy recruit-candidates.
Refusing players with lack of skillpoints is not wrong in my book, tho I persnally don't do it. Character is my selection criterium nr.1.
But anyone angry enough to post about it in a nice and easygoing recruitment thread would have probably failed that one as well

As for the responses to this thread. Well us here at HDy have nothing to hide, although I will point these are not people who have applied to join us asking the more "awkward" questions. But I feel we give an adequate response nevertheless.

I'm not sure whether we wears a kilt or not because the interview was conducted by FTL tight beam communications array (big video telephone for inbetween planets).

About two weeks ago I ran into this advertisment for HDY. I was just getting back into the world of EVE and I had a character that has been around since day 1. This character only had about 500,000 skill points so he was nothing special. I was interviewed and accepted into the corp. I was throughly informed about everything that the corp did and any questions I had were answered very quickly. As a Cadet I've had the opportunity to work with the corp on mining and hauling operations. I've also had plenty of time to do agent missions and pursue personal interests. The beauty of it all is that as a Cadet I am not committed to the corp at this point.
If I decide I don't like it....I can leave at this point and there will be no hard feelings.
Of course, that isn't the case though. So far, I have enjoyed everyone moment of working with this corp. The members on it's roster are first class people. It's fun, entertaining and really adds to my enjoyment while playing. I highly recommend this corp to anyone who is eligible because it is definetly worth it.
