Except for the spies. God they annoy me. Always destroying my turrets and stabbing me in the back. Damn them!
I mostly play as a medic ubercharging a heavy. Every once in a while you find your kinda 'game soul-mate' and the game becomes golden for them few minutes you have together. For instance, when I met with a heavy on a random server and we stuck together for entire maps taking over points and causing paths of destruction wherever we went. It's things like that that really make a game. Certainly an instant classic.
I think during them periods too your invisible, but the medic/heavy combo is great for the round starts. In eve relation, is would be like a heavily tanked yet gank Maelstrom.
Spies are annoying, but its so fun being one

nobody plays sniper?? that's all i played back in TFC. maybe the soldier here and there but there was nothing more exciting to me than sniper wars. sniping in general was so hard back then on modem connections. you really had to learn how to lead your shots to compensate for the lag.

What are your first thoughts, impressions and were your expectations met?
IMO, best multi-player game this side of EVER! It is just so well balanced, so smooth and SO MUCH FUN! Even after 12 hours solid playing, I hadn't heard the Heavy utter 'I AM BULLETPROOOF! HAHAHAH!', and when I did I couldn't aim straight with my uber-scout of doom
Favourite class?
Mine's the scout - quick, nimble, and packs one hell of a punch if you know when to strike (I've got killing heavies nearly down to a fine art). I also enjoy the engineer.
I love this game!
i just logged off eve. im downloading this. ---

Incorrect, i got it today and the beta works.
Good to hear
My only gripe is that I had bought Episode 1 about 3 weeks ago on a whim (think EVE was down and I wanted to try out HL2 again) and now find out that I get it with this package
Well, just noticed that I can give the free episode one to someone as a gift...thats pretty neat.......ok taking bids for isk if you want it

I suppose they thought grenade spam was too common, they should have kept caltrops and the nail grenade and just removed the frags imo. ___ Eve Players are not very smart. Support Killmail Overhaul

I really can't wait to get in. If you remember TF1 back in the day, it was actually fine with grenades msot of the time. They meant that the snipers had to keep an eye out on the battlements in 2fort or a grenade might fly up and whack them. The problem was that people abused grenades. Instead of launching them on their own, people would be fighting away with the shotgun but with the grenade button held down, then they release it with perfect timing and it comes out, hits the enemy and explodes.
Basically, people used grenades as a short-range rocket launcher. And don't even get me started on people autodropping grenades when they died. Having played TFC a lot recently in anticipation of TF2, I can safely say that I will be glad when I get into TF2 and there are no grenades. I will miss the medic concjump, though, as I was an expert with that and could launch myself right across the map and in the enemy base to infect people (which they've also taken out). Even so, a lot of people are saying that medic is their favourite class so I can't wait to play.
EDIT: MY GAME IS READY

Yeah, it's a shame it had to loose conc jumping to make the game better, but trust me; it's awesome. ---

I also disliked the excessive nade spam in TFC, it got real irritating after a while.

Snipers need to watch their back more, I don't recall it being that easy in TFC to get onto 2fort's sniper deck as a Spy, knife all the snipers and get away with it. --------------------

Are you kidding? That's all I did for months on end in TFC :).
Something nice I found with the spy is that people often don't see the blood when they shoot you. People shoot each other as they pass to check for spies and you're expected to shoot back since shooting would reveal you if you were a spy. However, plenty of times I've run straight into the enemy base, gotten shot by a few people and then they stopped shooting because I react as if it never happened.
I just turn around and stand there acting like one of them. They almost always stop shooting when I'm low health and don't suspect a thing. When you shoot to check for spies, make sure you can see if blood comes out :p.
