I'd like too be able too set my orbit too the optimal of my weapons. Automatic Orbit of Optimal. All optimal's should show up in the orbit menu. |

Right-click the Orbit button, and type in the optimal range of your weapons. When you select a target, click 'orbit' and it'll move you within the set range.

It's already implemented as explained above. Try it and see.

Yeah, it's already completely possible to do this. It only takes a few moments to set your orbit to your optimal range and after that it works every time.
If typing your optimal in is too much work, then you are just not going to do well in eve. PvP is just not an arena where you can just press 2 buttons and win. |

You rarely actually orbit at the range you tell it to orbit at for a variety of reasons. This would be a dumb feature and would encourage newbies to take an oversimplified view of game mechanics.

Actually I agree.. You don't want to orbit at optimal because the mass of the ship and speed of it affects your orbit pushing you out of your actual desired orbit spot. You want to orbit slightly under optimal (how much depends on the variable above). Of course you probably don't want to orbit at all since if you are orbiting someone they are likely manually flying to screw with your orbit so they can kill you by taking advantage of the fact that you suck and want the computer to fly your ship for you.... Just sayin. |

Wow I should have read the whole thread before posting, then I would have skipped posting my other responses and just posted:
Dev's can we just get this whole thread removed since this guy posted it for no reason than to troll people who responded to it with any opinion other than his own? Is features and ideas really the best place for his attitude given the rules for this area? |
