When was the last time MC had a contract that they got money for? I know they said they would attack BOB for the right price.
Just out of curiousity... would 5 billion isk/week be enough for MC to declare war on BOB?
I ask this out of curriosity. Seing that MC need isk and all to replace they're needless losses.

This is true. Additionally, according to [BoB] LuckyDuck, the pleasure he gets from killing a tech 1 goon frigate is the same as any other kill. So killing goonies = homogenous gratification.

Thats actually an interesting question....
However, to answer it you would need to know two things.
1) Do MC still consider themselves to be mercenaries in some shape or form... or are they just one another typical territorial alliance?
2) How intertwined are BoB and MC? there has been an osmosis of players and thought processes since MC decided that BoB space was a good spot for a base of operations.
If the answer to the first question is YES, then its very possible that MC are still for sale. The cost of such a purchase would be high, more of that in a moment.
The answer to the second question will determine wether MC will fight with BoB till the end even if the war becomes a lost cause.
Lets assume MC are still mercs, and lets assume that MC still have an identity that is not completely tied up with BoB's.
In that case I am going to speculate that the price for MC is more political than monetary..... arranging things so that they get to keep their outposts in the long term and presenting a viable route via which they can return to their mercenary roots... effectively you would have to find them a couple of good sugar daddies and a political environment whereby they can continue to do the Merc thing.
MC are actually MC's worst problem.... they are so at the 'top of their game' that very few entities can afford to hire them for anything. Devise a future for MC that does not require BoB and my guess is Seleene will look after number one.

I am wondering the same as Nex here.
Are MC still Mercs, or are they just another gang fighting for they're life?
The OP can't post for ****, but we know what he is getting at. Where are the tremmor that followed MC declarations of war?

Hmmm, this brings back memories of when NSN said they would never attack the PA. Then within a couple months we see a MC contract attacking the PA, with none other than the people who said they wouldn't do so, attacking PA. I agree that it would probably be more of a political price though.

Any MC members care to chime in? All smack-talk aside, I think those are very pertinent questions.
No offense MC (I for one have admired you guys for a long time) but how does it feel to viewed as BoB's pet corp?
I don't think MC can dissolve their ties quite so easily, therye pretty much in BoB's pocket at this point. Am I wrong?

What leads you to believe that on a BoB contract they wouldn't just take your money, inflate their stats, and refuse to engage hard targets?
That belief is not without precendent -- anyone remember ISS vs. IAC?

Great, beating the dead horse once again. More than often, when you ask yourself a question, you already know the answer.
Flying ships which cost billions, who can still be a mercenary? Or, the other way around, who can afford to hire mercs flying multi billions ships? ____________________ A gentleman is someone who can play the bagpipe, but who does not. |

I dont think 10b is enough tbh, 10b = ~5 fitted dreads or less (insurance and ****), and in a battle against bob Im pretty sure they would loose more then 4 dreads. And then they have to think about the stations next to bob space, if ASCN would have failed against bob even if MC was on ASCN side their stations would be threatned, so my guess is that MC would have needed more then 100b to actually accept a contract against bob at that time. Im a bit drunk atm so my numbers arnt exactly correct, but you get my point, 10b is nothing compared to 6 or something stations in bob space and lots of capital losses.

Of course MC are not mercenaries (for quite a while now as I always said but now it becomes clear for even everyone).
They were and are territory holding alliance whom you can rent against some targets.
With several outposts you can lose it is obviously that your priorities will shiftly slowly but certainly to keep them, to hold them. And since they are deep in BoB territory the MC have quite ties to BoB and if BoB fails, so will MC. Therefore they won't fight against them but always heavily support them.
But who knows what will happen once BoB cannot offer them protection any more?
