Saying that if they did it properly then I'd certainly give them benefit of the doubt and look it up. If you're thinking "Yugioh" or some dumb show like that, then yes, I can see why one would hate for Eve to look like that. However when there are art quality shows like Ergo Proxy, Death Note, etc out there... seriously I can't fathom why one wouldn't enjoy the quality of the show. To say anime is devoid of detail is to truly not know the art style at all, if anything it is THE leading form of artwork in the world where detail and precision is held in the highest contempt for their shows. Show me another form of animation held to such a critical perspective in the world today. Really. You need to know more about the subject to truly view it, but since I hang around people who dislike anime, I know many of the reasons for it. They are usually superficial reasons due to lack of exposure, and are most likely jaded due to the kids shows of the medium. Anime can be dark, gritty, dramatic and profoundly detailed in both character development. Anime in itself is not a genre but a 'vehicle' for many genres, and Eve would be far too easy to convey I am afraid. It would be excellent as well, but Eve's story as deep as it is, isn't very character driven. Which is necessary for a story to be told in anime, film and any other forms of entertainment. Especially if it's going to be told in series, or feature format. ----------------------

Wild Rho Amarr Endgame.	Posted - 2007.09.30 10:20:00 - [97] They could probably do decent ones in the style of cow boy beebop. I'm not talking characters or plot but more in regards to scale. Small personal stories that don't really mean anything in the grand scheme of the world. The Eve cluster is certainly big and varied enough to accommodate such a style.

I mean, the kind of shockwaves that would throw on every civilized race in Eve would be dramatic. Tensions would definitely be high, and who knows what could be waiting on the other side. The trick to making an anime of this is the story, and in not making it Japan centric. Alot of the 'failings' of anime in general are the very self-centered plotlines the japanese have with themselves. They feel they are going to be the center of the universe, and in Eve it has nothing to do with America, or Japan, or any real nation. It's 4 completely different societies. Born of different heritage, each with different prospects and now at a state of a very shaky peace. The opening of the gate would open a brand new direction for Eve, and would make for an amazing movie, anime, or book imo. Will something try to come through, or wait for us to take the first step. Will there be a violent attempt at claiming the gate, or will it somehow bring everyone together in peace? Looking at such a story from some minor characters, like a miner, or a crew of pirates would be interesting ala "Firefly". Though who knows? I'm not so deep into the flavor that I could write something like this myself... but I'm sure there are enough of you out there that could. ----------------------
