While I love anime (because I am 94% weeaboo) an EVE anime would probably end up somewhere along the lines of a Gundam series. That would not be cool.

I don't see how anime is the opposite of EVE. Unless you're thinking all anime is happy fluffy lala land pokemon. It can be dark and evil you know.
But to be honest, I don't think I'd want an EVE anime. It just doesn't seem like it would fit very well (and by that I mean art-style).

Bebop would work well, but a few changes to the animation would have to be made.
Like I said before the guys that animated Death Note were amazing, high attention to detail.
As to chicks, you have the Ammarr.
Nuff said, Ammarr chicks animated is a single good enough reason to make the series imho.
I bet Chibbra would get a cameo mining in the Veldnaught.

Anime wouldn't work very well in EVE imo, EVE relies too much on detail, detailed ships, detailed background story etc. while anime in it's most common form is very simplified in all ways and forms to make it faster and easier to produce.
Personally I'm hoping for home made machinima when ambulation comes.

To dont see an eve anime series but maybe a one off animated film based on eve maybe a story on how eve ended up how it is today a pre-lude to eve online this way writers get more room. Myabe something in the style of Titan AE abit of comedy and actions and a good story and animation.

I think that in it the Guristas wouldn't be drones but actual pilots if you know what I mean.
Unless thay take the .hack//sighn angle and make it an anime about people playing the game, but suicide gankers are doubtful.

Nah I'm not talking about hentai. I simply mean there was a time when anime was mostly aimed at adults instead of emo kids and as such tended to contain lots of graphic material. Anime back then was brutal, both in terms of visuals and story lines.

It could work, but they would have to use CG for the space battles. Ive only seen a few anime that had some truly epic fights that were drawn.
I like how the stereotypes just fly out of the woodwork as soon as someone mentions 'anime'. Find the wrong series and it sucks bad, but isnt it the same with any animation? I mean can someone make a judgment that all western animation sucks because they have only seen Dora the Explora?

It is. There's more spaceship pew pew pew. Jinto and Lafiel are still the main characters but the scope of the story has expanded to the epic galaxy wide level

Certainly there are ones like that, however better ones such as Gits or GTO are not fight style ones, now if you could take the finesse of those and add in macross style scenes then yeah I would be interested.

The girls in that anime piloted a ship that used railguns and lasers in spaceship combat... and all their fights are televised :)
That or Seikai no Senki style (Crest of the Stars) would be best.

let's see... how could an EVE anime be?
fleet battles of the size of the ones on Legend of Galactic heroes (considered the space opera with the biggest fleet battles ever made... like 1million ships? pfft.. more mate), with a plot like Banner/crest of the stars, mixed with Cowboy Bebop and Planetes animation.
all this rated for 18 and such.

I don't touch it myself as most of the time either the fan base scares the **** out of me or the plot is impossible to understand.
Saying that if they did it properly then I'd certainly give them benefit of the doubt and look it up. Provided of course that the races aren't shown as the stereotypes that most RPers see them as (so not every single Amarr is a religious nut job).

It's sad to see that most people here don't think it would work because they think anime has only one drawing style. If you're thinking "Yugioh" or some dumb show like that, then yes, I can see why one would hate for Eve to look like that.
However when there are art quality shows like Ergo Proxy, Death Note, etc out there... seriously I can't fathom why one wouldn't enjoy the quality of the show.
To say anime is devoid of detail is to truly not know the art style at all, if anything it is THE leading form of artwork in the world where detail and precision is held in the highest contempt for their shows. Show me another form of animation held to such a critical perspective in the world today. Really.
You need to know more about the subject to truly view it, but since I hang around people who dislike anime, I know many of the reasons for it. They are usually superficial reasons due to lack of exposure, and are most likely jaded due to the kids shows of the medium.
Anime can be dark, gritty, dramatic and profoundly detailed in both character development. Anime in itself is not a genre but a 'vehicle' for many genres, and Eve would be far too easy to convey I am afraid. It would be excellent as well, but Eve's story as deep as it is, isn't very character driven.
Which is necessary for a story to be told in anime, film and any other forms of entertainment. Especially if it's going to be told in series, or feature format.

They could probably do decent ones in the style of cow boy beebop. I'm not talking characters or plot but more in regards to scale. Small personal stories that don't really mean anything in the grand scheme of the world. The Eve cluster is certainly big and varied enough to accommodate such a style.

I would like to see something a bit on the epic side, maybe something to do with New Eden, and its reawakening. I mean, the kind of shockwaves that would throw on every civilized race in Eve would be dramatic. Tensions would definitely be high, and who knows what could be waiting on the other side.
The trick to making an anime of this is the story, and in not making it Japan centric. Alot of the 'failings' of anime in general are the very self-centered plotlines the japanese have with themselves. They feel they are going to be the center of the universe, and in Eve it has nothing to do with America, or Japan, or any real nation.
It's 4 completely different societies. Born of different heritage, each with different prospects and now at a state of a very shaky peace. The opening of the gate would open a brand new direction for Eve, and would make for an amazing movie, anime, or book imo. Will something try to come through, or wait for us to take the first step. Will there be a violent attempt at claiming the gate, or will it somehow bring everyone together in peace?
Looking at such a story from some minor characters, like a miner, or a crew of pirates would be interesting ala "Firefly". Though who knows? I'm not so deep into the flavor that I could write something like this myself... but I'm sure there are enough of you out there that could.
