Now that EVE Online will have a monthly subscription of Ç 14.95 or $14.95, does EVE Online now have the highest subscription rate of the any of the current MMOGs?

Depends on how you look at it.
SWG is also another newbie on the market, with its subscription rate justified by SOE saying "You'll pay us and like it!". They broke the 12.95 barrier first, I believe with SWG.
AO is a different story. AO has released 2 expansion packs and could almost justify the increased price, except the fact that the rate is flat for everyone. Regardless of whether or not you own either expansion pack.
Comparisons of quality is a matter of opinion. People tell me there are players at SWG that obey SOE's commandment...then dance in cantinas all day. Something I find stranger than paying CCP for the priveledge of AFK mining veldspar.

They start getting new coustomers then raise prices...not very good marketing no matter the reason. Timming is everything and this timing seems off to me.
On a side note funny that all the inflation and such forth for UK and non UK just happens to be the same prices  .

It¦s a very good game and this is most likely the best game we know of, else we wouldnt be playing it so I think that money is nothing compared to the time we spend in it, 1-2 trips to the movies, few beers depending where you live.
How long does it take peaple to spend that money and how long do you play the game.
Very cheap per hour I would say and definatly worth it.

Worth every penny.
As Omni pointed out, it's a damn sight cheaper per hour of fun then going to the pub and various other entertaining activities I can think of... my mates tell me I shouldn't spend so much money on those ladies though, apparently they say those things to all the guys!

I havent noticed my 6 month subscription go up at all. Looks like a way to push people to buy months in advance.
If this is not a marketing scheme by their new marketing guru ill be completely surprised.

But listen...look at it like this..in say 6months there goin to pull the same scamm again..sayin blah blah this and that..we need to raise the price to 20.95 for blah blah...it will never stop...there greedy bastards bad marketing tactic..If I was CCP I would put the new price for the Noobs and people getting in but the people that have BETA tested this for over 8months need to be kept at the normal rate because we helped CCP get where they are today..this is just a slap in the face by CCP to us that have been there for them thru all the bugs,crashs and (censored)

Oh, people, wake up. It's all about the money, they don't give a rats arse about you or your time as long as they can squeeze the last cent out of you. And it's not just them, it's everyone! Pay or die, thats 21st century moto. So keep paying or cancel subscription. No alternative.

Well, only thing that hurts me is that € = $ thingie... they are NOT the same, in fact if i now pay 14.95 € that are 19.19 () $... thats a harsh increase for a tax that has not been there before (VAT).

Honestly, the lack of change in the 6-12 month subscription rate says otherwise. Only way I can interpret this is to 'motivate' people to buy the 6m or 12m subscription. That provides CCP with 6 months or 12 months worth of funding in a single transaction. Regardless of whether or not you actually play during that time.
Will I continue playing? Yes. $2 more US per month is worth the freedom to cancel at the end of the month and be done with it. And is prolly safest for everyone involved as if I decided to stop playing a month after such a purchase, I'd ensure the remaining time would be very enjoyable for me at least. Can't comment on how well others would fare

+ its only the one month subscription that went up 2 dollars the 3 and 6 months are still the same.
So i dont think many second accounts will die :D just change the subscription :p

Don't think they raised it, at least not for me. Used to pay ~12,95 euro's ex. taxes, now I'll pay ~14,95 euro's inc. taxes. All boils down to the same, and only better that they do it like this now instead of thinking you pay one amount but actually paying another due to taxes.

Its not CCP that changed the prices, the EU has put VAT for e-ware and e-service; since EVE-Online is an e-service CCP had to change prices a little. Also instead of getting more money they get less for 3- and 6-months subscriptions. Because of the VAT...
My question is: I have a 6 months subscription which is not over. Will CCP charge additional money for my existing account?

They can't. Unless there are some very sneaky terms in the EULA you can't raise the price after a deal has been made and signed.

Well with the UK Pound (ú) hitting $1.91 this morning I think I may go home tonight and give both my accounts a six month extension...
At that exchange rate $14.95 only works out to about ú8 per month... (less than 3 pints of lager at London prices)

It's the Most expensive online game if you live in the EU.
14.95 Euro's = $19.27 and is therefore more expensive than SWG $14.95 a month.
