Just like to say "thanks" to whoever it was from mOo who podkilled me whilst I was on a long trip home in a shuttle.
I thought mOo actually had a shred of morals - after all, there's no profit in killing and podding a shuttle driver, all it does is:
a) I get home quicker b) I have to fork out for a new clone c) I have to retrain for 10 hours (ie overnight).
What is mOo's official stance on this? Do they think it's acceptable to destroy shuttles, then pod their owners? If so then they have gone down considerably in my estimation, as that is NOT piracy - in any sense of the word.

You are mistaken. They are not pirates.
m0o corp are actually a congregation of mass murderers.

were you in m0o's area of space? and or was it in a low sec area? People have to realize that there is nothing written in stone when it comes to piracy. A kill is a kill. When you travel in a low sec area, what did you expect to happen?

There is profit in killing shuttles if that shuttle is carrying a blueprint or skill book :)

The problem with shuttles is that they have a cargo hold just like any other ship, and that small cargo hold can have some very valuable items in it... like Blueprints, or a Local Hull Cargo Expander. So good profits, potentially.
If shuttles didn't have a cargo space, then there'd be no real point in blowing them up.

Vinky,
You could've been carrying a billion isks worth of bp's in your shuttle.
I mean, the brutal truth is, they probably killed you just for the sheer ******* fun of it, but you might've been carrying bp's too
Plus, it's fun trying to one-shot shuttles/frigates.

i can t give mOo s official stance, but you can have mine: kill is a kill. period.
and hereby i officially take from you the right to define what is piracy and what is not.

"Wasting 10 hrs of her training time is reason enough"
At least I now know that they are just griefers with no agenda.
:)
Training doesn't bother me, I often forget to set training off or don't bother checking my account for weeks on end sometimes (the disadvantage of having a life outside of Eve I guess).
Pity whoever it was didn't kill me on the way out (yes I did see you, Mr mOo, on the way out - guess you were afk or something). They might have actually got what I was carrying.
Knowing that I made more money on that trip and also massaged a fragile mOo members ego/member is reward enough (on top of the 5 million I made).

shuttles are used to carry small, expensive items more often than you'd believe.
They are also very, very hard to kill, as, by the time you see them uncloak, they are almost in warp already.
To catch a shuttle out of cloak, you need sub-0.5 second lock time, and some luck.
personally, I wouldn't take very expensive goods in anything less than a tanked BS. Anyone who does, is either crazy, or a risk junkie. .

Regardless, I have the answer to my original question.
Thanks

Hm a kill is a kill? Funny I thought Piracy was generally about spotting a prize, taking it and making off with the plunder and keeping out of the clutches of the authorities as a way of living. A kill is a kill smacks rather of Biggles in his Sopwith Camel claiming that a kill is a kill, a jerry is a jerry, even if he's in an observation balloon or digging his back garden. One shot killing shuttles is shooting for sport. Though the argument about people carrying BPs in shuttles has some merit it does tend towards an attitude created by having no real value on ammo or your characters life expectancy but thats what having clones does I guess

to sum it up, moo owns u bottom line. stay out of their systems (and mine) because most likely if ur not a friend ur an enemy not matter what ur flying. from my personal experience library, while camping with c0w a shuttle was shot down that was carrying 9 dominix bpc's so guess what? anything and everything that's not their friend is getting shot down whether it be for profit or just the simple pleasure of seeing a ship explode

You could have been warp jammed and webified and asked for ransom, but you like 95% of the other stubborn peaple in EVE we engage would probably never have paid so you were killed without hesitation.
Bottom line is that if peaple dont like what we do they should try to stop us in the game. Spawn of the Devil

You gotta be pretty stupid to transport important bp s or skillz with a shuttle Cuz if ya got some decent skillz then your frigate is 6x faster
