I'm of a small alliance based out of Providence so our presence on the world stage is inconsequential. So here's what we're seeing form our corner of the universe... (Dont be surprised if im just reiterating what everyone already knows. Im just trying to make sense out of it all.)
The Facts:
- Taken from Bu JinkanÆs post relaying information from MCÆs forum:
Mynas Atoch[ETNY] says: "We effectively presented them with a plan to take Catch. They appeared to agree. Then didn't do any of it. We hauled them back to the table. They told us it sounded a great plan, and still haven't done much more. We've just wasted two weeks and now AAA appear to be back in the fight after us ringing their bell and making them hide for a week. With this momentum, its going nowhere fast - call me when you are serious."
- Later, BoB begins its invasion of Catch as stated in CarnmireÆs post: ôThey just put up 10 POSs in Catch, five in V2 and five in 5-N. That is all for now.ö
- A corporation by the name of ôBlack Guard Brigadeö begins deployment of a couple of POSs in systems surrounding 9UY. Also, it should be noted that BGBR has no alliance ties, but just recently left an alliance closely tied to BOB.
(Note: 9UY is an important system to Providence because Three out of Four of the pipes into 0.0 space all must pass through this very important system currently held by CVA. Also: Providence is the quickest way to Catch from Empire space. It is logical that Providence, 9UY specifically, is of great importance to the coming war.)
- REPO-INDUSTRIES Declares hostile action to be taken against the CVA and SYLPH alliances currently in control of most of Providence. They, also, appear to have no obvious connections with BOB and refuse to comment. QUESTIONABLE SOURCES claim that BOB is behind REPO's sudden decision to attack Providence.
Conclusion:
MC/BOB have instigated two separate wars in an attempt to keep anyone from aiding the alliances in Providence, writing it off as a separate affair. Had the two powerhouses attacked Providence outright, it is likely that opposing parties (perhaps goons) would aid CVA in the defence of 9UY to keep the lines to empire open for the war against BOB in Catch.
And so it begins. MC/BOB will attack IAC û keeping IACÆs allies (CVA and Sylph) tied up in their own war. Unless there is some outside aid from the Goonsà Catch will fall and subsequently, Providence.
IT SHOULD BE NOTED:
These are my personal speculations. IÆm in no way an ambassador or a diplomat of SlammerÆs Republic. I am not particularly well informed as to the intelligence of the alliances of Providence or Catch. I am in no way attempting to harbour aid from either side, nor implying any such aid from SlammerÆs Republic.

edit: I wouldn't be too worried about CVA either. For roleplayers, they appear to have some pretty nasty bite to them. Its not like they are new to upstarts trying to claim space. ----------- HI IM DUCKMONSTER |

I doubt BoB have much interest in Providence beyond the single system of FSW (part of their cynonet) that Paxton inhibited.
The entrances from empire in Providence are kindof irrelevant strategically speaking, it's much more likely the mercs and pirates around there are part of a minmatar plot against the Empire.
Catch isn't going to fall anytime soon, and I'll be extremely surprised if CVA have any trouble whatsoever keeping what's theirs.

if you know anything about the south. Repo has been harassing prov and catch residents long before CVA announced their involvement in the IAC conflict. One shouldnt always assume its because BoB wants to keep CVA out of the war. Do coincidences happen? YES. Is this one? Possibly...Take the tin foil hat off already. ________________________________ High Sec PvP

I know from personal experience that CVA, despite being roleplayers, know their biz. They might not seem, since they seem to rather enjoy the relatively small gang action that I've seen both with and against them in Providence.
Lets see. AAA is probably the most impressive "small" alliance in EVE in my opinion.... I don't think anybody thinks they've got any fat on their war machine. IAC... they're amusing drunks, but still rather tough. And CVA are fairly hardcore in their own way. Basically, the MC/BoB forces have staked their reputation on being able to at least smash one region at a time, and if they are rolled back from Catch, I'd say it'll be the end for BoB as the omgwtfpower of the southeast. And its not like the RedSwarm guys are going to be sitting on their hands over near RISE....
Its going to be an interested couple of weeks ahead.

CVA have also a few enemies all over the universe, who would come and kill them if they need to be killed :P (i've been in UK for about 6 months so i know there are many people who want them dead)

I wouldnt worry too much about Catch going anywhere anytime soon.
With BoB having given up in Feyth with the text "We didnt want that region anyways", several entities that have been in heavy combat with BoB there suddenly have time on their hands to attack BoB in Catch.
Which, as we all know, already resulted in 1 titan kill (and 14 capital losses). I think there's laggy times ahead for the FAT residents (e.g. both sides), with the fight concentrating more and more on a few selected systems.
Good luck IAAAC, my heart is with you guys! ---

Quite possibly yes. Or perhaps those two entities are behaving opportunistically? It wouldn't be the first time that old foes (or new foes) with eyes on a certain area took the opportunity to attack once powerful friends weren't around any more, or were going to be distracted by a larger fight.

You write off vast areas of space in very few characters.
The beginnings of this fight started many weeks ago, with the battle for 25S to secure a beachhead (the gap between Querious and Catch is a major capital barrier), and the current slow grind of the battle for FAT.
Unless something major changes, it does appear FAT will fall anywhere from a few days to a few weeks from now.
So Western Catch will fall.
As to the rest of Catch, who is to say how the tempo of that fight will play out.
And as for Providence, any speculation at this point would be EXTREMELY premature.

The loot seems to be had in CVA space. Because the droppings we get from UAL suck, and the only people who ever fight are The Reckoning, maybe we too should start going to CVA space.

Like that other guy from Blade. said - it began more than 3 weeks ago with the intrusion into 25s (the system next to FAT). 25s fell and it has been 2 weeks+ (for reference you can look at another MC guy's thoughts about it: "we just wasted 2 weeks" - he was referring to the 2-weeks-long stalemate in FAT-) now that The Alliance and The Coalition fight for FAT. The POS spam in 5-n and v2, imo, is nothing but diversion. If I have to guess, it is at least a week before we can think about changing sov in FAT-. And then again, even in that case, we're talking about 2 systems in Catch, which is all but a major, wtfpwn conquest of an entire region.
As to CVA and Providence, I also, do doubt that GBC's eyes are set on it. After all, it's the Holy Amarr Empire that controls that region, and to be quite frank, no one but the true Amarr descendants - CVA should (and will) ever live in Providence.

Oh lord thank you. The level of mis-information in this thread reached such a critical level that I logged in to post, but you beat me to it.
When BoB comes a-knockin', we'll darned well know it. Until then, ENH and Blackguard raids are status quo, and Revan's new campaign has been loudly and clearly announced.
