Hello. I am thinking about starting a new char; one purely for purpose of doing solo missions, level four ones.
So I would like to ask you, what battleship do you reccomend ? (only common ones, not faction)
I want him to be able do most of lvl4s alone, and with least possible training time investment (I know that it will lack several months to be able squeeze maximum from the ship). I care not about race.

Raven, very low SP requirements compared to other mission running ships.
You could try the drake aswell with a passive tank.

Drake is not an efficient lvl 4 runner, at all. Raven is your best bet. CNR if you've got money to burn (you said not faction but they're not that expensive these days).

As said a Raven is easy to go for... the missile tree doesn't require you to train smaller types of missiles much and you can neglect a lot of support skills without suffering a lot of consequenses doing missions.

For extremely low SP Drake wins hands down. You can get in one, survive, and do level 4 missions (albeit slowly) inside a week (assuming you have the standings).
But the Drake's DPS even with very high skill investment is pathetic compared to a almost any battleship, especially the raven.
If you're just starting out, use a drake while working on your Raven skills. Shore up your missile meta skills and drone skills before you make the jump to raven. You're going to need those light drones a lot more when you have cruise/torps (though I'd recommend cruise). Heavies will suffice vs. frigates, cruise with low skills....not so much. And torpedos vs. interceptors? Futile.
I'm sure there are newbies out there who made it all the way to level 4 missions with no drone skills then were locked down by NPC interceptors and were completely unable to kill them.

Basically Drake running L3s till you can get a Raven to run L4s well. And don't forget the drone skills.
