My idea is to remove the Reinforced-Mode. For Compensation give the POSes more HP or more weapons and shields or so. The Reinforced-Mode is the basic reason for the big lag crowds.
Good Idea? Please Discuss.

Nope very bad idea, the whole purpose behind reinforced mode is to negate timezones. Remove reinforced mode and the whole POS war becomes totally unbalanced.
US TZ would beat the crap outta Euro and visa versa, only ones that win are those that have sufficent force in both TZs.

It is not simply to negate timezones. It is to negate the attacker's advantage of being able to choose when to attack and muster numbers before-hand. So if there was no reinforced mode the attacker gets the same #s they have today, but the defender has just what they can throw together once the attack is discovered. Nearly every attack would be successful and every defense pointless. Doesn't really sound balanced or fun.
The answer of making POS more powerful will just ensure that ever larger blobs are assembled to attack, making any skirmish even more one-sided. Also it would make it impractical to have smaller regional wars because the uber POS would take too long to kill without the blob.
No offense but this has been discussed about 4 million times, the OP is not the first bright spark to come up with this idea. If it were easy and clear how to solve POS warfare it would be solved.

My opinion would be to reduce the scale of pos warfare.
Here's a rough idea: Decrease current pos hitpoints to about a quarter of their current values, while creating a new starbase structure (defense module). The defense module would massively increase the fighting capabilities of the pos it is installed on (shield amount, pg, cpu, even gun hitpoints), should be limited to one online per system, and increase the sovereigny pump rate many times over, so that bringing down such a "fortress pos" and anchoring your own, would lead to conquering the system.
There is room for customization, perhaps sovereignty level could allow for a second one of those modules, or for more effective variants, this is only a rough idea.
My thought would be that it would limit the sheer amount of time required to conquer a system, and reducing it to just two major battles. It would also make "cleaning up" a system a bit less boring. ----

There are simpler ways that dont increase your chance of logging off for the night and waking up to not having sovereignty.

Yes that is a good idea but it doesn't solve the most serious problems of POS warfare. I agree POS spammage is pretty bad but its not the basic problem. The basic problem is that everything related to POS is horribly boring, takes forever, and the only way to make it go faster is to bring more people. But most importantly, it forces everyone to show up at the same time and in the same place to fight. No "fix" that fails to address this can ever fix this game.

Here's an idea,, how about they get the POS defenses in line with the Capital ships??? Since the invent of the Dread and the Carrier POSes have become pretty much defenseless anyway. At least with reinforce mode you know when they'll be coming back to finish you off
