Hey hoo,
is it sooo damn hard to create a handfull new models for new ships in the game? cmon ccp... "ouhh our players are bored, let adjust some stats of this ship and paint it pink! yarr" ... "ouhhh blackops battleships... hmmm ah just take some old standard hull"
Same with the damn commandships... seems all you can do is to change colors on existing models (or replace the texture whatever).
Dear CCP, you pushed out millions for this useless EVE-TV, what about invest just a little piece of this money in some design guys, for a 3d guy it really isnt this hard to create some **** spaceship model.
Tons of Ships there but allways the same damn models, you call this creative? bah

Didn't you see the part in the description where it says Hull?

T2 ships are just modifications on an existing T1 Hull, I don't see how some ships addition can change the whole hull design!

Why do we have to see this every time a new T2 ship line comes out. Just look at the materials needed to build one and you'll understand why they're not new hulls. Is it really that hard to grasp?
I used to get It.
Then It changed.
Now I don't even know what It is.

I hear ya. I was thinking the same thing over the weekend when looking at pics of the new BS's. Would be nice to have new ships that aren't rehashed old ones with a new color. Oh well...btw I understand the fact that they play the T2 card and use old chassis's.

a t2 raven can only be a t2 raven if it's based on the raven model. if they create an entirely new model, it's not a t2 raven anymore, it's a completely new ship.

Ohhh interesting post I think.. Has many merits.
Whats wrong with sexy black ships re Damnation. I for one love the paint jobs, pink is only for Eris 
I`m already having a hard time thinking what the hell some ships do, so lets just release more original ships... TBH I don`t mind they making the t2 and t3 eventually based on the t1 model. Its called making the design better.

T2 are in fact T1 hulls with extra additions like antenna's or disco lighting. And it ties in with the production as well since they require the T1 version and some extra material and ofc a repaint. |

And they do come out with new ships. Tier 2 BCs, tier 3 BS? Any of that ringing a bell?
Hell, when the game came out there were only 4 classes of ship: BS, Cruiser, Frigate, and industrial.
Just look at all the ones we have now: BC, Dessie, carrier, freighter, shuttle, dread, MS, Titan, capital industrial, mining barges. Those are all entire new classes of ship.
In short: Quit *****ing.

I think that could be good something like the difference between T1 and T2 frig.... or T1 and T2 industrial: same base hull but little changes on the graphic, like some wing, or additional engines... just look "Crusader" and "Malediction"

Its not so much that the old designs are boring, just that they are BAD. Need some redesigns I think. I think the worst offenders are:-
Dominix (looks like a training/tennis shoe upside down)
The tier 1 and tier 2 minmatar battleships (the new look minmatar ships are hawt)

I just wish they used the tier 3 BS models instead of the ancient models...supposed to be new technology for the races yeah? so why use the old work horses...

Because normally it is the older things that get a revamp/remodel first. IE Tier 1 ships.

while i agree that T1->T2->T3 progression is boring and lame when it comes to design (and hell of lazy from CCP) i also prefer them to give bug fixing a higher priority.
however, what u all seem to miss, is that they have different teams working on different stuff... by freeing bugfixing developers they would not increase designing, as it's totally different departements.
and i believe that each departement (specially design) has many sub-departements. the guys who design the new "walking in station" will probably not have to do anything with designing new ships.

For the most part yes, but not for all ships. HACS use the 2nd and 3rd tier models and AF's use the 3rd tier frigate model.

Why does it have to be like that though? They can do it the otherway around, say that most of the inside of the ship has been altered so they needed a new hull for it.
