I have been keeping my R&D agent happy for what,1-1.5months.........have some 15k rd points and still nothing.
A corp m8 has 20k points and yet shiat for payoff!

If you buy 1000s of tickets in the National Lottery are you guaranteed a win ? NO !
The BP give away is a lottery based on the number or RP (or tickets) that you have.

hehe, I keep starting my research over to reset my points. I never let it get more than 4k. I figure it only takes one ticket :-)

How many other games out there do you know of that reward months upon months of effort with nothing, nada, zip (and no I dont count ISK/ materials etc since thats not the reason you do R&D)?
Some players could get no reward, and no sense of achievement, after years of playing. That's just fundamentally flawed as a game mechanic. Why on earth would someone continue playing under those circumstances if R&D is their main interest?

1. I dont like it either
2. Think most people dont either
3. At the moment its the only fair way to ensure not one single corp gets a complete strangle hold on all the BP.
4. Why not come up with a new fairer way to hand out Tech2 BP to people.
5. I dont know of one myself. Wish someone else would do it for me

Plenty of other methods were suggested when this solution was originally proposed ... but required more development effort than timescales allowed.
Who knows - maybe we'll get something more rewarding in later releases - but for now the future looks bleak for R&D
