Zubakis Bambooule TALIONIS ALLIANCE	Posted - 2007.10.10 12:21:00 - [1] Do you think that size of guns is proportinal to size of ship-models? Somehow when i look for example at the Megathron, i get the feeling that this thing cant hurt me with its mini guns. And when i look at the Moros and see it's big-fat-massive guns, i get an impression of pain. I would love to see some bigger gun batteries on the subcapital ship models. This will probably make the ships more scary. What do you think about it? -- Zuba

Terianna Eri Amarr STK Scientific M. PIRE	Posted - 2007.10.10 12:42:00 - [5] I actually think that for the megathron, the problem is that the turrets are placed rather randomly on the hull. I always thought, before I actually saw one in space, that the five green dots on the front port and front starboard sides of the ship were five turret hardpoints, and that the other two were on the little wings (where they are now) Look at, say, an armageddon or a maelstrom, and the turrets look bigger - or at least, look more like they belong. just my opinion ofc. __________________________________
Cpt Branko The Bloody Red	Posted - 2007.10.10 13:01:00 - [6] Well, on a Rifter (or any other frigate and even destroyer for that matter), the turrets look nicely sized and mostly nicely placed. Cruisers are so-so - a bit larger AND better placed (I'd go for better placed first!) would be nicer to look at. Then again, preety much all cruiser turrets look like some sort of silly pistols bolted on the hull and randomly placed (i'd like something that screams 'turret', not 'pistol'). On battlecruisers / battleships, guns look very small.

I feel as though my Megathron does not have battleship sized guns, but instead, the crew roll down windows and fire their pistols (sideways for extra gangsta' style points). But I'm sure what happened in my whine will happen here. Apparently someone actually worked out the math, and the guns on the battleships are actually in proper scale with comparisons to the ships. This just means they need to make the guns bigger, don't change any stats, just make them bigger. When a Megathron fires a broadside, it should look like the Mega should heave sideways from the force of the blast. Much in the same way an Iowa class Battleship heaves sideways several feet when firing a broadside despite weighing several thousands of tons. Of course, it should only look like it should do that. I doubt there is much recoil from a blaster/rail gun.

Careful putting recoil into the game, you don't want those poor tempests falling apart when they fire off those 1400mms __________________________________

Is there a real reason why they arnt? it would look way better with 5 in the front ones and 2 in the back ones, actually look like batterys of guns ripping them apart. "Its the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that defines who you are"

But compared to real life ships those guns are still tiny.
