It seems like the right decision have been made. It must have been a tough call.
I find it hilarious that the northern alliances that waged war against M.PIRE treated them with more respect during the war then BOB did when M.PIRE were in the process of putting capitals and support fleet on BOBs front line to help out.
If an organized alliance with a reasonable strong cap fleet wants to help you fight on the front lines and you demand they pay rent for it (no matter how much), how much need do they have to spin anything!? I guess that MCÆs victory set the good old BoB hubris on overdrive, I wonder how BoB would have acted if M.PIRE had come down south 2 weeks ago.
Respect to M.PIRE for not bending over.

It's obvious from the posts that there's been tension between BoB and M.Pire for some time. A bit of diplomacy on both sides would've smoothed things out.
Basically BoB carebears are complaining that a few people shot some rats and mined some roids are whined and complained at this huge travesty. In the early days of refugees moving around there's gonna be some confusion and tension. Some sympathy while shunting them into a constellation might have helped that is if there intention was to move in for ratting.
Perhaps taking time to communicate and allowing it to filter through the ranks might have been a better option rather than increasing your list of enemies.
