Something for the walk-in-station features perhaps.. put that frozen corps on a slab in the hangar and grab that crowbar.. even add some gore to this game.. would be perfect! :D

Why not...if we can collect intact frozen corpses...why not the stuff inside? Call it an Implant Reconstruction skill, so that we can fix implants that we "salvage" from corpses...

Exactly. And the skill can give 5% more success rate in extracting the implant.
This whole idea is started by Shamis Orzoz so I kinda stole it from him. Atleast thats where i heard of it the first time.

Stupid idea. This would completely destroy the concept of ransom. After all, why ransom someone when you can kill them and get their +5 implants? This idea will probably completely destroy the pirate legacy and turn eve pvp into a mindless WoW-like podfest. ====

as long as you don't give a 100% chance rate it wouldn't destroy a ransom, give it like a 15% chance and plus the fact you never know if someone has implants or not would still make ransoming viable in my opinion.

Think before post.
First of its a based on chance. Like 5% per skill level = 25% or less PER implant.
I would still try to ransom the ship first since its not based on chance, And I don't know if the player has any implants at all.
And I also think CCP should add a Implant Scanner of some kind so you can ransom the pod easier.

Thinking is good, now ccp tell us why we can't salvage implants from corpses, and while at it tell us why we can't salvage the gunpowder used from the bullet that hit us at the same time.
Now can it be, that a implant is spent when installed, from the fact that what remains in the brain of a person is just the end result of the entire precedure, and the end result is not the expensive parts. thinking is good.

"In your desperate attempt to retrieve the implant intact, you accidently crushed the frontal globe of you victim. what is left is a puddle of goo-goo."
And to prevent corpse-buyers to farm implants:
"Scotty, the station pathologist doctor is getting his psych checked, please wait 5 minutes before crushing anymore skulls"

What piracy needs is a skill/weapon that allow the pilots to disable to ship via damage. Think Star Wars' Ion cannons. The goal would be to force the pod to eject, and allow the pilot to take the ships and module as a whole.
Of course, enough nos can produce this effect.

Unless im mistaken this idea was cirulating around before rev 2 hit; did something change?
As for disabling ship parts; I thought this was coming with heat but apparantly not;
Implant extraction, as previously stated, should be chance based however seems rather unlikely to be implemented. Like others said though; this would probably cause us to blow up even more people w/o ransoming them.

Who cares if it's chance based, that means exactly jack ****. Do you honestly think that just because it's only a 25% chance people are going to NOT turn this game into a podfest? Open your eyes and smell the coffee, implants are a lucrative reward. Offering implants at a chance for simply podding someone would ruin the novelty of true pirating. ====

That could also double as a handy skill for when someone is hiding from you in a station when walking in stations is implimented...

ya and you never ransom ships either because 50% of the fittings drop...
think before you speak. if theres a 25% drop chance, 75% of the time it will be more profitable to ransom them gives pirates a much needed income boost TBO. If low-sec pirating actually made money maybe we'd stop suicide-ganking haulers in high sec.

Sounds like a good idea.
'Course implant prices will drop like a rock wether it's chance based or not - but tbh that only really hurts the carebears who farm for them, so that's a good thing. --

tis not a bahd idea, salvaging corpse's or such
This would mainly give a REAL! gain to podding un-bounty'd randoms, other than the unjustifiable imorral temptation.
Maybe make a skill called necrochemistry were u put ure colected snowmen into an oven plant and they come out like stackable stew zombie's at the other side, were ur scientists pull out the goodies and then leave them to entertain your freed slave's and so.

How about YOU think before YOU post. It doesn't matter what the percentage is, people are going to do it irregardless. If there was just a 10% chance of getting something they'd do it, and if there was only a 1% chance of doing it, they'd still do it. The problem is not the reward giving, it's the encouragement to dissemble the novelties of pirating by insinuating pod zerging is profitable. ====

uhh... podding goes on a lot no matter what, people will still ransom because it will most likely be more profitable to do such a thing anyway, if you only make it to extracting only one implant from a corpse at a time... the chance of getting the implants goes down a lot
some people just like podding, now they can actually get money for it xD
if you want money, you ransom... if you want some implants, you will pod, instead of the old ways where you just like hearing the nice squishy sound |

Wasnt there something in the pipeline to target specific areas of a ship, a la star trek. "Mr Worf! Target that ships engines! I want to pwn that noob and take his ship from under him!".
