I have Gallente trained, caldari suck at pvp, and i have equal skill in amar and minmatar. At the moment i can fly amar and min BS. I have the race specific guns trained to 4 small, medium and large for both races. So the question is, do i want to go with the super tanking and little used amar and suffer with the lasers issuse, or do i want to go to the pvp and artillery powerhouse that many seem to be training now. Im on the ledge here and im tipping to min, but i have no idea what to do. Any advide would be helpful.

I'd go for Minmatar simple because I've seen projectile weapons on a lot of non-minmatar ships due to their lack of cap use. Then again, if you have missiles skills trained then you should definitely consider Amarr. ---------------- Tarminic - 29 million SP in Forum Warfare Originally by: CCP Wrangler Booooo!!! Unless you see a devblog mentioning amarr or something on SiSi, plan on amarr sucking for another 6months to 1 year.
Go with minnies: All T1 ammo as the same range(about) so no problems there. Weapons require no cap Faster and low-sig Tracking disruptors effect ACs the least out of all turrets You can fill a crapload of roles Great Alpha for fleet encounters

Two Words: Khanid Ships. Missiles + Armor Tanking is an impressive combo. Also, the Curse is pwnsauce. ---------------- Tarminic - 29 million SP in Forum Warfare Originally by: CCP Wrangler Booooo!!! Tarminic sux!!!

The Curse used to be pwnsauce.... Now the arazu has taken its place and the rapier/huggin come in after it.
Khanid ships are mearly ok. Not standout great, but not bad either.
Like I said, Minnies will allow you to fill many more roles than ana amarrian character will let you.

Right now, Minmatar ships are FAR better than Amarr ships. Amarr ships use lasers which cause so many problems. Cap problems. Power grid issues. Damage Type issues. ON top of this, lasers aren't all that hot, have only mediocre DPS and range.
In theory, lasers were supposed to be hard hitting medium range weapons, with a high cap use to off set their high DPS.
Of course, I might choose to go for Amarr, since if any ship is going to be buffed, it's going to be an Amarr ship IMO as they are the ones who have been waiting the longest.

Amarr is a big-ship fan's tank's choice of the day/week/month/year however, in the form of it's carrier and dread. Abaddon is no joke if set up right either too.
Anything below BS level though lacks in performance compared to say, Gallente.
I have seen laser-fitted Amarr ships on Armageddon day actually being a threat, so dont discount them if fitted right.

note that that is 50m skillpoints working for him, its takes a lot of skilling to get cown like in terms of tank and damage. -------------

Pulse lasers have a high optimal (for short range guns), good DPS and decent tracking, meaning they can be very effective in the right hands. The downsides are high cap use, limited damage types and the high fitting requirements for some of the beam lasers. They are also worst affected by tracking disruptors due to most of their range being optimal. They don't have the speed of Minmatar ships, but they are more effective as damage dealers up to medium ranges.
The Armageddon is a very good ship, as are the Interceptors, HACs, Command Ships and Recons (the Nos nerf makes them a lot less powerful then they were, but there are other good fittings that don't rely on Nos). ---------------------------

actually its mostly a collection of pretty lame docking tube stuff with him sitting in a heavily passive tanked abaddon right on top of some station killing stuff thats stupid enough to realize how short the aggrotimer is.
if you stick enough sp into amarr ships you can certainly do pretty cool things with them but that video was not it.

I'd say Minmatar overall.
I LOVE a few Amarr ships though. I love the Abaddon with pulse lasers, and I LOVE the curse. But... that's pretty much it >_>
Oh, and I like the 'geddon for ganking sometimes.
Minmatar, in my hanger, I got the Sleipnir, AC/Sniper Tempest, Vagabond (Soooo fun!), Typhoon (For missions/Pure gank... Large Projectiles 5 with Hail and 4 Siege Launchers with 5 Ogre II's do around 1000 DPS), and I love using my Maelstrom for bait. Tanks like a beast.
Then there's also the cheap cruisers that are very nice, Rupture specifically.
HOWEVER, Minmatar capitals are a joke. I used to have a Naglfar. Was too scared to take it into fights. They're primaried first every single time. Pathetic tank, average damage = First dead.
The Nidhoggur is also pretty crappy. They 'boosted' it a bit, but I still dislike it. Both of the ships look badass though :)
I love the Archon and the Revelation though, although I've never flown either. Just I love the performance. If I were to fly capitals again, it'd be Amarr.

Dude you are Gallente
Ishtar and Mega rules.
But if you really want to stray from your hedonistic bloodline, then Minmatar all the way. Minie HACS and Recons are awesome with the right skills, and oh yes the tempest still kind of hits fkin hard in fleets
Edit: @CaperPuts. I love Ruppies, such a nasty cruiser in the right hands...and yes I forgot about the sleip. So once again..Minmatar ftw
Tbh, takes a while to skill up, but you wont regret it
