This Idea has been posted many times before and I am simply restating it again in a desperate plee so the devs will make it happen. Its such a simple and easy idea that its amazing that CCP has implemented it yet. They have the "reload all" why not "change ammo" for all?
The basic idea is that the option of "change all" is available when you select an ammo type on your gun turrets or missile launchers, this way you can change the ammo type for all without having to shuffle through and individually change each gun. This will make the Amarr lasers alot more useful becuase of the varied crystal range aswell as making the varying ranges in pvp combat alot less of a pain.

I wish I could find the source so you could read it yourself, but one of the features of the new UI they're working on is supposed to be this.

Just FYI, they specifically said that a new UI would not be implemented when Trinity 2 was released. It would be further down the line because it's such a major upgrade in itself.

Don't add yet another entry to the already crowded context menu, but rather use a modifier key ie. holding shift while changing ammo changes all guns to selected type.

Uh, this would mean a cascaded menu entry, right? In the heat of battle cascaded menus are a pita. I'd rather have a rightclick option on ammo stacks to be honest. With automatic un-loading. The advantage would be, that this would theoretically also work in the fitting screen.
However, any 'load all with' option would be great.

Or another entry in the right click on the weapons themselves. If you're carrying a few types of ammo, that list gets a bit large.
I second the suggestion for a right click on the ammo stack. "Load all M Rails" or some similar size adjusted option. Keep it size specific between the S/M/L/XL turrets and different sized missile bays based on ammo types. Only one real overlap between launchers would be the assault laucher using standard missiles.

The large menu problem could be solved with sub-menus.
The menu would be like:
UNLOAD TO CARGO LOAD WITH > LOAD ALL WITH > SET AUTORELOAD OFF SET MANUAL ON TOGLE OVERLOAD OVERLOAD HACK STOP OVERLOADING HACK PUT OFFLINE SHOW INFO
The sub-menu would show only the available ammo/missile/charge to the module you just right clicked.

It already takes 10 seconds to change ammo for non-amarr players... Having to change amoo on 6-8 weapons 1 by 1 makes us lose even more precious time in a fight.
Perhaps even going further and making ammo groups. Would be useful for ships with split weapon systems like minmatar. Example: You make a group called: "Anti Caldari" - When you chose that group you load EMP on your guns and EM missiles on your launchers. You have another group: "Mixed" - Where you load Phased Plasma on your guns and different dmg types on each of your launchers.

I thought using lasers with insta changing crystals would be cool, but the click time wastes times in changin ammo when it should not take time. We need an icon close to the weapons that will allow us to see only the 'reload all' and all the ammo we have in cargo for this kind of weapons! Then, amarr lasers are cool. And destroyers/battleship/battlecruisers are no more a pain to reload or change ammo. And the amarr bonus with the instant reload gets real, amarr will always be at their optimal (which is what was intended with the amarr crystals, right?). -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

I actually like that idea better. "change ammo for all" would not necessarily be so good if fitting limitations required a mix of two different types of guns.
e.g. a bunch of 425mm rails and a 350, might use longer range ammo in the 350 to get its optimal to match the 425s. But grouping all 425s and all 350s together and being able to reload THEM all at once would be great. ------------ Ezra Cornell

Edited by: Demje on 03/11/2007 15:55:44 as amarr I've definitely been annoyed at the lack of this. either a script customizable option to load particular ammo into particular weapons, akin to a macro, or a change all. only problem is that with a change all function you would have to have it try and succeed or fail each individual gun before moving on to the next otherwise you could end up with 1 gun loaded and 7 empty that you have to manually fix in a fight. I've found this to be the case with amarr lasers, where I would have a stack of 8 crystals split down to singles, and when I tried to load different ammo, if I moved too fast the crystals would fail to load in every 1 out of 4 guns. I could also imagine the problem of having all weapons empty themselves and try to load ammo when you only have 1 left for a single gun.
I'm all for the idea of having a single button that you fill with particular ammo thats in your hold, binding each ammo to a particular weapon, and then using that button during a fight to quick switch though.

This may be the single coolest thing to happen in Eve since I started playing. Well ok, maybe not *coolest*, given all the cool ships and other content CCP keep creating... but this is definately one of the *best* things to happen. I am so glad to hear this! Thank you! ;)

I think it is the way projects gets to trash : -No design -No specs -No thinking of collateral damage -No knowledge about the said project -No skills at programming (hald arsed coder, right?) -No proper testing phase (NOW!!! right?) -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !
