Just read the announcement and TBH, fair enough.
Sounds like some cheating and/or malicious muppet was owning the server. Props to the team at CCP for noticing it.
This being the case, CCP would not be to blame, just some random idiot by the sounds of it.
Anyway,if the server was compromised then shutting it down seems a reasonable action to have taken.
Shame that this thread is gonna fill up fast with the "i wants some free game time" trolls

Thank God for the coldfront IRC channels... the lack of information kinda encourages the donning of tinfoil hats....
Some of the sh.it put forward as explanation for the crash was nothing short of paranoid.
Still Good job CCP-obviously a major and unforseeable problem and things back to normal fairly swiftly.

I think the lesson that people need to learn is that if you exploit you screw it up for everyone and you will end up banned in the end it might just take a little while

I've read the comunication but there is not a single detail. Can we know what happened? i mean, why was the databse hacked? wich was the objetive? wich char benefited? etc.
