That character you just posted with, where do have you created that? Right ingame. The forums and TQ are on the same database because they partially use the same information, hence they need to be connected.

I couldn't agree more, CCP did a fantastic job of containment and handling the situation and are to be commended. Though I had quite a few "cold turkey" moments myself during the downtime.
As for making implications that someone is an idiot in the forums for suggesting a skill queue or that because an alleged malicious individual has disrupted honest players' time and those players should perhaps be compensated for lost skill training time, shame on that individual. Don't direct me to the EULA, direct yourself to the COC of the Forums and have a nice day.
Now, that out of the way, CCP has the best customer service of any company I've been a consumer of their product so far in this area, and their actions today help consolidate that even more. Thanks again.

I know CCP will be flamed for taking down the server for this breach of security, but I for one, would like to congratulate them on doing the right thing and making sure everything was fixed before starting it up again.

oh I see. Sorry. So EVE and the Forums machines can only talk to one databse? not several at once? or even just 2? one with say, server game info, and one with forum info?

Well, i guess the forum posts are on a diffrent server, but still, they'd need access to the game server to even let you login, simpler to just pull the web server plug then explain every error that arises then...
