saied is that you cant digg implants out of your head
but you can upgrade implants with a better version (and losing the old one) ---------------------------------- some of my ideas: Very Long Balancing Suggestion !!! and My Ideas for EVE |

Being able to harvest implants from corpses would be a good solution, all the PvPers pod anyway. It would keep implants in circulation. PvPers would also be more likely to fly frigs if they know they could get replacements from thier kills.

I hope it will never an option to take implants off and then put them back on, then you would see everyone take the implants off before they go to combat.

A long time ago, i thought about implants, and it stating to safety remove or upgrade them, they are destroyed in the process, but I do think that when a guy is podded, it should be possible to recover implants, as pilots safety is no longer the issue. Maybe you just dissolve the body away leaveing them implant intact (hey make it a skill, 10% more recovery chance with each level) and have it as an agent service from the more 'dodgy' pirate corps.

If you make implants removable before battle you nerf the implant market. +3 will go for 50 isk since there will be no demand.
Harvesting implants from corpse doesn't sound like a bad idea though. It would still impact the market but not nearly as much.

Er -- actually, it -would- impact the market fairly significantly. The only time an experienced player needs to buy new implants is when he or she loses them to podding, neh? So if implants are harvestable on death, then we see a new supply crop up at the same time as demand increases. With a steady influx of implants from agent runners, welll.....

Make the harvested implants loose 1 point of effectiveness per podding. so that they degrade until they disapear when they hit 0.

its a money sink .. so I doubt they'd want to let people remove them .. if they were to come up with a sollution myself I would suggest adding it as an option at the medical facilitys - remove implant .. with a timer of perhaps 1 day per level of the implant removed (better implants being more highly integrated with the users nervous system say) before the body recovers sufficiently to allow another to be removed - that way it makes it allows people to take a basic out without destroying it if they get a standard but not to just pop them all out at whim if theyre going to fight . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.

1 point lower bonus for each time an implant was salvaged would perhaps be usable at the moment, but with even higher ones youd have to at least halve the bonus to avoid totally crashing the market.
Slightly off topic: Anyone heard anything again about the implants that LOWER attributes but give boni to damage or power grid? Was ages ago when the devs said soon.

And in case this hasn't been adressed, if an implant came out, the training calculation of the attributes needs to take place immediately. If you have a 19 attribute, take out a +3; the training attribute for what you are now training needs to be reset to 16.
I bring it up as I heard that if you were training (implant installed) and died, you would still be training that skill at the old attributes. Don't know if it is true, but something that may need to be reviewed.
If true, a corp could buy 1 implant, let everyone install and get training started, and pass the implant around. When everyone has installed, started training, and given back the implant, the implant could be put in a hangar for anyone who may need to 'use' it. I don't want to see implants be a re-usable item in this manner.

Ooooh, if you could remove implants from corpses, you would see the numbers of pk's rising, and the number of poddings would go through the roof.
At the same time, the value of implants would fall through the floor.
A bad idea, imo. .

being able to insure your implants would be good, just like when you insure your ship
