Frank Horrigan	Posted - 2004.02.24 21:45:00 - [1] i just watched a m0o video #5 at their site and.. well i was thinking at how much a bs costs.. i think ccp shoud change it so bs's are like 20m and the lvl 2 ones are 25m. i mean it would solve the "OMFG EXPLOIT" problem and involve more people in pvp. i admit i suck because i dont take my 100m apoc into 0.0 inless im witha fleet of trusted friends but thats because it took me since i started eve in september last year to get it. if i ever do pvp its usualy in a bb or some crusier. i simpily cant lose a bs that cost 100m snip i know ill get flammed for this but seriously this game would be a lot cooler if we could do pvp without worrying how many months it will take for a new bs, well inless your mine bistot all day. but most people dont and they put their soul into their bs's. my main point is if bs's were like 20m i would do pvp all the time. i love pvp nothing else like it cept a roller coaster but i would never take my apoc into pvp atm... Agreed. Completely agreed. Battleships are WAY overpriced. The only corporations that can afford to have multiple PvP battleships are the alliances out in 0.0 space camping arkanon roids all day. Everyone should be able to get a battleship if they work hard enough.

But battleships shouldn't be reserved for people sitting in 0.0 space camping arkanon all day. Even at 25 million, battleships wouldn't be easy at all to replace!

Again, I think there are too many anal players with too much money that will oppose this idea because it will mean players who are not as good as them will be able to get battleships. But the idea isnt that insane sigh __________

Prodigious	Posted - 2004.02.24 22:20:00 - [13] i just dont see myself EVER getting a bs..i mean, i cant play this game 24/7.Additionally there's no other way to get that much cash, except for mining rare ore for a really long time. if there is a quicker way, can someone PLEASE fill me in?? i love this game, but it's really too time consuming and pvping is quite unfeasable with all the experienced players in uber corps and uber bs's.. to sum it up, CCP should really work on making this game more fun during shorter intervals of play time. at this point, if youre not online 3 hours every day, youre nothing. i dunno. just my view of things atm. it's fun nevertheless, but ive been playing sporadically for 2 months and im still a nobody in the world of EVE.

Even a casual gamer can afford that without too much hassle. im talking about pvp. you cant pvp in a kestrel in 0.0. believe me, ive tried. im getting my second bb now, and i'll attempt to pvp w/ some of my corp mates, but i'll undoubtedly lose it in a day and spend the next 3 killing npc's and reprocessing loot to buy another bb. get what i mean? and no, u cant pvp in a thorax either, unless youre fighting other cruisers...but the majority of people in 0.0 own bs's and will smite u in seconds no matter how cunning u are in your lil cruiser.

Not only are the filthy rich not only get to stockpile on more bb's but then every other idiot will be running around in bb's. The server is already over cluttered with these ships, and I hope to 'Devs with Insight' that they continue to work on alternatives to the bb disease. The game has got to get around from who has the biggest ****zle to who can operate diverse class of ships with tactics. Here's a shout out to more bb nerfs. This game needs more diversity and less polarization.

It's a lot like real life, it's not what you know, it's who you know. getting into a good, active corp or just having a group of competent friends in game that will help you makes all the difference. Go with a gang of friends and kill a bunch of npcs and sell or recycle the loot, and split the profits. Have a mining op and completely strip a nowhere system or 2 over the course of a weekend. A group of like 5 people can mine and haul 10x more efficently than 1 person can, and it's also much much more fun. Cruisers are few millions a piece, frigates few hundred k's a piece. Why not pvp all the time in them if you can't afford to do it in battleship?

Yes I live in 0.0 space and that is where the ISK is, but to reduce the cost of Battleships is insane... Christ I bought one Scorp and one Apoc in one day using ISK I hade made in 8 hours Ninja mining with one guy hauling. After doing this myself I can see how the large alliances can afford BS after BS as I can imagine they can rake in one billion+ ISK in weekend with ease. If anything double/triple the price of a BS as yes everyman and his dog is flying them in deep 0.0.
