I'll say it every so often if I'm tired and have been playing too much EVE. As I haven't been playing EVE much, lately, I haven't done it in some time.

Name one other game in which the devs can go around the forums and talk/act like humans rather then robots. You guys actually care/talk to the community and each other as people, you guys = TEH WIN.
P.S. I think i just figured out why Ass isn't picked up by the profanity filter ^^. ___________

Considering the acronym lol is used to show that you are 'laughing out loud' in real life, and letting others know...umm no I don't say it in RL. I went to a LAN party a few years ago and some kids were saying lol, and wtf (the letters, not the words), my brother and I laughed our asses off at them.

Edited by: Sheriff Jones on 21/10/2007 18:09:29 Last friday, i was out in a bar, some guy bumped into me and spilt his bree on my shirt, he thought it was my fault and appropriately lifted his fists in a fighting motion.
I looked to my friends, looked back with one lifted eyebrow(rock style), pointed my index fingers at the guy and went...Pew pew.
Next morning, in the hospital...

Completely aggree with this and I find it's very refreshing the way CCP interact with the community ^^
btw ass also refers to a donkey and also refering to someones ass is hardly a profanity now is it ;)
btw ftl if anyone spells out abbreviations in rl, without saying the words for real, saying "lol" or "roffle" or even a-f-k, but not w-t-f or r-l or b-t-w. I do indeed call people noobs/newbs however you want to spell it in rl but then again this has been common practise for longer than I can remember.

epic...
Unfortunately I have found interweb nerd speak creeping into my everyday vocab as well, despite my resistance to it. I have resigned myself to allowing a few out, lulz, epic, for the win, w-t-f, noobs and owned can easily be slid into normal convos and not be too eyebrow raising. A couple of times ive tetered on the brink of an "afk" or "pwned" without realising it.
There are however a few completely blasphemous one liners I completely hate. Leet, afk, pwned are the verbal eqivilent of rollerblading- they will have their moment in the sun but looking back on them in a year or so even their main supporters will shamefully admit how ghey they sounded.
My wife actually threw down an "el-oh-el" to me once over dinner. I calmly put down my fork, made eye contact and held it for 10 sec before stating "what." There was a recent episode of Californication that summed it up nicely. I don't use lol in RL, but occasionally on vent/TS. I have been known to use newby, owned, fail, win, and for the win/loss though
On a side note, in chat I'll use lol for something that makes me smile, and rofl for something that makes me lol
