I never played SWG so I don't know, but I think people are more comparing it to the fact that Sony lost touch with its playerbase and implemented changes while not listening (or caring) what the players thought rather the try to compare any one change in Eve to SWG.

now there I agree with, IF CCP put in a change that so many people didn't like withut any compensation I would be ****ed too.
hmm ok so that's where the over reacting came from...
p.s.(SWG basicly removed the whole skill system and replaced it with a level system like if eve got levels. it ws REALLY bad.)
lets hope CCP don't lose touch.

Seriously all you ppl threatening to leave the game and abusing the developers over a "proposed" changed to the dominance of Motherships are acting like a bunch of brats. It's quite obvious they hit a nerve with regards to this so they must be on the right track.
What you need to do is post constructive posts to maybe help direct them on the "proposed" changed instead of screaming bloody murder and abusing the developer who announced said change. You do realize the change would be team based and not the sole decision of the developer who announced it...really, come on. CCP for the most part listen to this community and work with them on changes in the game...how many other game companies do this?
Yeah i know it's a massive time /isk sink to fly these ships and CCP would be well aware of this fact too and i am sure they are working hard to come up with a happy medium for the community in general...hence the post of the "proposed" change.
People tend to forget that MMO means "Massive Multiplayer" and that there is a diverse range of people playing these games. It's not MyEVE-Online that the developers make just for you. They are always striving to balance things the best they can in such environments for the whole of the community.

I wouldn't mind if the carrier continue to be a hegemony. What I do mind is that some of the owners of these uber ships don't use ingame methods to attain them.
Uber items or skills always lead to exploitation. EVE was fun in it's glory days because everyone can afford to compete. Now only the elitists have fun.

I was merely pointing out how much of a ridiculous overreaction the quoted comment was. I don't really care much about carriers one way or the other, other than from what people tell me people out in 0.0 like to blob with them.

Yes, that's it, it has nothing to do with them swamping the forums with their unintelligent and generally irritating whines.
Then again, it may because we're just not as cool as carrier pilots are. That and all of our sexual insecurities.
