"We are still absorbing feedback and debating what route we want to go with the carrier fixes. We have not yet applied the effect modifiers on the base attributes to the carriers until we know what direction we want to go. The only thing on sisi currently is the base drone bandwidth attribute of all ships." ok my mate just sent out 10 medium drones.. also thing to state that it doesn't tell you that you can't sne dout more bec uase your using fighters, it says you can't send out more becuase you have 0.0 bandwidth yet. I understand your freaking out, but that is no reason to start sending up stupid news posts on other sites, don't you see? no one out side of eve cares? Yep, I was just able to launch 11 lights, only 5 fighters . It is a pretty big "conicidence" that the bandwidth limits of a carrier and the nerf line up exactly though. And I don't know what you are talking about posting stuff on other sites or freaking out as I have done neither.

Follow the timeline. Basically there was whining about carriers being to powerful in the forums, because carriers were able to kill battleships and cruisers (ignoring the fact that carriers take a year to train and billions in isk, where a battleship takes a few months and only 100 mil in isk and its insurable at a reasonable cost). Next there was a "will CCP be blackmailed again" thread which talked about CCP caving into younger players that didn't want to invest the same time, effort and isk to get ahead, they basically wanted everything to be on a "level playing field" where nearly all ships were the same. Then you have this "announcement" in which the developer states that carriers are essentially unkillable and do to much damage. People are pretty upset and don't believe that a carrier which costs billions should do less DPS then a battleship, and essentially a year of training was for nothing. They also show hundreds of examples via killboard links where carriers are killed DAILY by just a small roaming gang of hacs, battleships etc, without losing a single ship. So not the unkillable ship that the devs talked about. Next Eris (a ccp developer) accussed the thousands of players that were against the idea that they were biased because they only wanted a simple "I win" button, in which she stated that she had never herself flown a carrier. This really made a lot of people pretty angry and the posts continued. Next this "coincidental" change on the test servers takes place which essentially limits a carrier to 5 fighters, making a 2 billion dollar ship do less damage then battlecruisers. It was also shown that with this configuration a 20 billion isk mothership could not kill a single deimos which sell for around 65 mil iirc. So when you look at the timeline of events you may get a feel for why people are pretty upset. Essentially it "appears" that CCP is ignoring their older players and want to level the playing field where newer players are just as powerful as older players. This is exactly what happened in Starwars Galaxies and shortly thereafter it lost all of it's playerbase.

It's quite obvious they hit a nerve with regards to this so they must be on the right track. What you need to do is post constructive posts to maybe help direct them on the "proposed" changed instead of screaming bloody murder and abusing the developer who announced said change. You do realize the change would be team based and not the sole decision of the developer who announced it...really, come on. CCP for the most part listen to this community and work with them on changes in the game...how many other game companies do this? Yeah i know it's a massive time /isk sink to fly these ships and CCP would be well aware of this fact too and i am sure they are working hard to come up with a happy medium for the community in general...hence the post of the "proposed" change. People tend to forget that MMO means "Massive Multiplayer" and that there is a diverse range of people playing these games. It's not MyEVE-Online that the developers make just for you. They are always striving to balance things the best they can in such environments for the whole of the community.

What I do mind is that some of the owners of these uber ships don't use ingame methods to attain them. Uber items or skills always lead to exploitation.
