in short yes. but don't sweat it, change can happen really fast. I was in your situation too no more than one month ago. Then things began to happen very fast. I now have 1.2b in my wallet and about 2b in assets.

This is one depressing thread. I consider myself fairly well-off because I own a fully fitted carrier and dreadnaught, and a couple of battleships scattered around. I don't think I have anywhere near the 10bil in assets that one guy said was normal. --------------------------------------------------------------------

Hm, i'm poor then, and lazy... and a carebear... and an empire hugger...
Yes, yes, i'm a poor, lazy empirehugging carebear and i love it!
The few missions i do earn me just enough isk to buy me some new toys once in a while, no spare to pay for gtc's, now u also know why deep inside i cry, everytime someone whines that hi sec people have it too easy bla bla bla... because it's just not true, atleast not for me. CCP, let us pay the online shop with Direct Debit!!! Magners is now recruiting, evemail me or Dagazbo ingame.

Edited by: Boomhaur on 24/10/2007 11:24:37 Broke - usually someone like me who cant afford to replace his/her current ship if its blown up, or purchase ship trained for, me yet again. I need another 400mil or more to buy my command ship and fit it out and the implants to fly it properly, oh and a GTC after that so make it 800mil down the drain
Well Off - can afford to replace current ship and fittings (including implants) at least 3 times incase something bad happens
Wealthy - Can't throw money around at everything they see, but can possibly faction fit a single ship of their choice and have enough left over for at least a T2 backup ship
Rich - Never pays attention to wallet and is capable of throwing money around like crazy, and is capable of crushing your foes with your wallet. And has been known to do so.

Hmm so how do you people like make money then? I've been flying round in low sec for a while and it's bloody hard to make any money at all. Fortunately cruisers are fairly cheap so at least I can afford to loose some during normal game play (I make a lot of unhealthy combat decisions) but my wallet is starting to feel the pain a bit and even with insurance I'm probably gonna be broke before too long. ------------

Thats what I am thinking - that or they mission, rat, trade, build 23/7.
I've been playing for 3 1/2 years now and I have a Bill in cash and a few T2 fitted ships (recons, CS, BBs and the such). I can't seem to make money though. . . so I guess I binge on ships, then mission/rat to make back the isk.

2 - 5 bill in assets 11mill in wallet 2 bill strewn about in corp (shares, etc)
i consider myself quite poor, though i can replace any ship i lose without an issue and t2 re-fit it. its all how everybody perceives themselves. the new player 100 mill isk is rich as he only uses 5 mill ships with fittings... i use a 180 mill ship with 350 mill in fittings.. big difference, but probably the same percentage in isk....
im poor.. donate to me, so i can get drunk :P

Wealthy is a very poor term for EvE, you are wealthy when you have fun doing what you do and dont have to do tedious and anoying things to do what you wish to do.
If you for example have to grind 10 hours a week to afford the toys you want then you are not wealthy.
If you on the other hand have a great time mining then you are wealthy.
Wealthy is not a measurment of isk.
If you are talking how much isk is alot of isk... Well when you can loose a BS, a HAC, a capital ship or the like and not feel its a drain on your wad of isk then you have alot of isk.
In threads like this one people will always show off claiming to make huge piles of isk with no effort, some will naturally be true but most are hot air.
But as anyone can make over 800mil a month with a single account with no effort after the initial setup... well lets just say there are plenty of ways to make easy isk if you know them :)

You're wealthy until you go and lose your large faction control tower because you where transporting it in a T1 hauler with no escort and then get all mad and threaten to quit Eve... not pointing a finger at anyone in particular here

Wealth in eve isn't really about what you have. It's about what you could have if you wanted to. It's also about who you know and what you can do. Assets and isk wise I'm fairly poor given my age, but I consider myself richer than the mission *****s who lack contacts and ability.

Wealth in EVE, imo, is having the resources to pursue what you enjoy...for some people that means PvP in cruisers, for others it's trading between the main market hubs.
It's probably a good idea to be careful with your wallet, but I don't think the wealthiest people in EVE started with the idea of making as much isk as possible. Instead, they found something they enjoyed doing and then became actively involved in it.

When I started Eve, I considered people with over 100m wealthy. In 10 days I made 100m myself and 1b looked alot to me. Now, after a month and a half, I have a little over 1b and would have even more, if not for a typo worth 600m. Now, I think a person is wealthy, when he has 400 orders active and still can buy all the exotic dancers in Eve.

4-5B in additional assets.
TBH, I still don't feel I have near enough ISK. I can't fly faction BS's without crying over a loss, and I can't really fit pirate implants.
