Edited by: Toulak on 26/02/2004 15:11:16 Deathstar International has left the PA as of 26/02/04.
We took the decision to leave the PA due to a change in corporation direction, that doesnt tie in with the alliance.
We are now a mercenary corp, and details upon this shall come at a later date, when we are fully functional in this service we aim to provide.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the PA for the time we spent in the alliance, and wish all the corps the best of luck in the future.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to announce that we are recruiting experienced combat pilots, we are looking for people with a minimum of 2 million skillpoints, and with previous experience in this area.
Contact myself or Mike Vader if interested, for an interview.
Many thanks.
Toulak Director of Deathstar.

Congratulations DeathStar International! Its taken you a while, but hey ;) I can appreciate that sometimes you need to see things with your own eyes for a while to make informed decisions.
(And lets face it, having done PR work for VA and Ragnar in my time I'm hardly best placed to chuck eggs at bad corporate associations) Good luck everyone,

the tactic of boring the PA corps to death and making their members quit EVE is starting to pay of ..
deathstar left for the same reasons as us, to have fun from a computer game..
Oh, and to all u guys who said CELES were getting owned, we lost 1 ship to EVOL and killed 4.. not exactly great amount of kills, but not exactly a slaughter on our side like folks were saying .

Darth, its pretty clear that guarding a load of rocks in the frigid depths of space is not your cup of tea, thats eminently fine! I must admit I noticed a lot of your chaps in empire hunting the rats there recently, and I have to agree with you, that is an awful lot of fun. I certainly enjoyed the couple of near cooperative actions against the Ducks and Pira-C, and it was helluva amusing to find myself hunting the same targets as Cult of Cthulhu a couple of weeks ago (I was so proud) ...

Sorry, but there is a distinct lack of loyalty in the PA. Two corps leaving, something must be wrong, no one expects you to come on here and spill the inter-alliance politics all over the boards.
Either that or quite frankly your cowards. It's my opinion, don't try come to come out with "we want a new direction in the game".

Yeah well, to quote the standard PA response this week when challenged about their questionable tactics: "in war there are no rules as long as you win" (not that I believe it mind you ;))
Good luck to you on your future endeavours, Deathstar International.

PA or the corps leaving PA?
We're both leaving because we don't fit into regional alliances, it seems.
Cowards or not, with 1 lost ship that is clearly not the reason CELES are leaving. Now, please don't flame this thread (too) to death with PA sucks, everyone is leaving PA they suck etc arguments.
Oh, and good luck to you deathstar!

It took you how many months to work that out?
Your corp keeps talking about how you want to come to curse, well get a move on lads, and do not expect it to be any easier than fighting Evolution.
I do try my best not to troll and i mean nothing personal outside of a game sense but it does seem like your covering up how _scared_ you are of 1 corporation.

No it's not.
Flaming is when kids can't handle disagreeing with one another. I'm disagreeing here, i don't intend to annoy you with cheap insults, i'm simply pointing out a flaw in your corp(s) actions.

Tehel, I have no idea if this is the exact issue, and I wouldn't presume to speak for any of the principle actors in these events, but ...
The critical NVA/FE war issue for the old NVA was the contradiction between between the interests of the PvP/Trading/Empire interested Corps and the deep Venal Industrial/Mining/Megacorps.
The former craved aggressive engagement against natural philosophical enemies and access to Empire via Pureblind.
The latter demanded 24/7 gate camping and territorial control over the core venal afk mining grounds.
If you remember the hoo-harr over the JF ejection from the alliance in the Oberon-led political coup, it was mostly about our reluctance to fight a defensive war for the benefit of the afk-mining megacorps. The old NVA had absolutely no agreed taxation or common defense policy, so to tie up a non-mining corps combat assets with deep venal gate camping was a strictly losing proposition.
Both Deathstar and Celestial Apocalypse were corporations that I actively head-hunted for the NVA as spearhead forces for a counter attack into FE territory. I think they are fighters and agressive raiders not defensive afk-miners.
I have no idea what current PA policy has been of late, but it seems (as an outsider) that they have adopted the old "entrench in core venal with running to empire for agent running" strategy that leaves no room in military focus for an effective counterattack against soft targets or enemy logistics.
I don't think Deathstar and Celestial are cowards in any way shape or form Tehel.
Just like JF were not cowards for refusing to die for Rona/Oberon/CDI afk-mining.
We simply wanted an alliance that had common responsibility and an enlightened military policy. Is it really so hard to understand that core corporate aspiration can differ from greedy alliance objectives of afk mining at the ark feeding trough?
Deathstar and Celestial are hunters. Thats why I once wanted them for the NVA. If the PA doesn't suit that style of play then they have made exactly the right choice to leave.
Love and peace

"It took you how many months to work that out?"
They had plenty of targets to chase around before, it worked for them.
Now they're pretty much limited to fighting Evol and it's supposedly boring, much like former F-E got bored of fighting the former version of PA.
So it doesn't work for them and they'd rather chase around the pirates and whatnot.
Is it really that hard to grasp?
I do try my best not to troll (..)

A flaw? That we want to have fun playin a game, and that we're not while in the PA is a flaw?
I do appolagise for that.
