Been playing crysis demo today, and im stunned at the graphics, there amazing. Best graphics of any game without a doubt, the gameplays pretty good to.
Running with every setting maxed and 16X AA on 1280 X 1024 resolution.
Framerate seems nice and smooth (as expected with my rig tbh) even with lots of action on screen in single player so im very happy.
Thats on GTX8800 768 mb, vista 64 bit, 2 gigs ram, core 2 duo 6400, Nvidia 680i SLI Motherboard, Raptor 150 gig HD.
Smooth framerates with max settings on multiplayer mode may require 2 X 8800GTX in SLI config, 4 gigs ram and quad core.
Oh yeah DX10 officaly rocks (A proper game to utalize it is only a year behind schedual from its release with vista  better late than never I guess)

1920*1200 vHigh setting and its smooth as anything :D it looks a fair bit nicer then the Multiplayer and I didn't think i would be saying that considering how good the MP looks.

/me is depressed... pentium4 2.4ghz cpu would melt under this game :( but i SOOO BADLY WANT!!! O.o
also, my mb only supports AGP so i've only got a radeon 1600pro agp card... 2gigs ram... anyone else got anything remotely similar and this demo is still playable??

I found a speedboat and promptly rammed into another boat. That was the best fiery explosion of my life.
Oh, and I was extremely bummed to find that the destroyers on the horizon are reachable but empty =(

I think you'd struggle with the game on low settings. The P4 is *badly* outdated by this point, i'd strongly recommend upgrading to any AMD or Intel dual core. The x1600 Pro is decent, but in conjunction with the CPU i think you're screwed. :P

I'm more of an old school gamer who doesn't care about graphics and the game doesn't seem to have anything else going for it. Strip away the pretty visuals and you're left with nothing but a very generic shooter.

got it working, you can see the effort they have put into the game, swimming underwater is truly staggering and each leaf and blade of grass looks perfect, however it has flaws, when aiming at a bad guy for example the gun wobbles around like the guy has had about 20 beers, i found it hard to get headshots, the cloak doesn't last long enough when you move as well.
Ill certainly still buy it, runs nice on my quad core 8800 gtx with 8gb ram and asus commando mobo, all settings at very high and smooth as a babys bum.

There's the point: The visuals *are* a part of the game, at least as far as i'm concerned. After playing the demo on high settings, i felt like i was "playing a movie", and that's exactly what modern games are about. Cinematic, interactive entertainment.
It sounds corny, but the 8-bit age is over... And i'd disagree over the statement that gameplay in older games was better. It's different, yes, but not better. A game is supposed to be fun, it's not supposed to have a 500 page manual detailing every single command, nor is it supposed to revolve around breaking yet another highscore.
All games are supposed to be fun, and Crysis is the most fun i've had in a very, very long time. At least, as far as video games are concerned. Playing the Crysis demo for the first time reminded me of when i got my first pentium 100, up from a 386-20, and played the MDK demo for the first time.

The wobbling is constant, it moves in the shape of an infitity symbol. Knowing this you can easily learn to aim very precise with it. The wobble is simply to make the game less arcade and more strategic. Knowing this, headshots are dead easy aswell. Just be patient and don't run and gun around like some headless chicken.
The cloak isn't made to move around with. It's made to observe, and move between cover, not to get across the entire island. When staying on one spot, it lasts for a couple of minutes, more than enough to wait for the alarm to go down or for a patrol to get in a dark corner before you shoot him.

everything was automatically set at very high in the advanced system settings under the graphics tab. I just had to change the resolution to 1680
