Sirial Soulfly	Posted - 2007.10.28 13:57:00 - [62] I played all settings on very high 4x aa in a small resolution in windowed mode, so I could get a taste how it would look once I have a system that can play it the same way in 1920x1200 in 2 years and I must admit it does look a lot better, compared to settings at high.

I run it at 1680x1050 with 2x AA and everything on High, some stuff on very high and one or two things on medium. Looks really good, and even if you decrease all the juicy video stuff you will have a really good time playing this game. Can't freakin' wait until release.

On my 8800 GTS + C2D E6400 (OC'd to 2.56ghz) (1280x1024) I get acceptable FPS on everything high w/o AA. To be honest, I hardly noticed it wasn't on. Personally, I had so much fun going into Strength mode and tossing keyboards at people and knocking them to the ground, it was probably illegal. Also, the blue barrels leak oil... I don't know if you can light it, but its fun to toss em in the air and try to pop em, oil sprays everywhere. I felt like The Hulk in a cowboy suit :D All in all, great fun :D Oh, and on my 2.7ghz Q6600 (OC from 2.4) with 2gb 800mhz ram and a 8800GTX it ran smooth as silk on High, 4x AA and 1680x1050. It runs great on 8xAA but I was noticing hints of lag, esp. in cutscenes and the difference is almost unnoticeable. Plus, it seems (at least on the first time I ran it) to cause some visual distortion, I had mountains pop up, etc. Graphical glitches I attributed to it being either A) A demo, or B)8-16xQ AA. idk what a Q makes it, but it didnt seem to like it... I highly reccomend you grab a barrel or a dumpster and toss it at the Koreans, its great fun. Or a palm tree. Whatever floats your boat forthcoming

Everything on very high. 1280x1024 (i dont use widescreen oh noes!) and i have only noticed any slowdown once or twice. not botehred checking my fps yet. Few gripes with the game. im in a supersuit that apparently can only take about as many bullets as normal combat gear can on the KPA soldiers..... ok fine. but at least i got super speed! which is only really useful if your needing a quick get away and havent been shot yet. Strength mode... can jump really high. sorta useful. picking up stuff and smacking people about was quite fun. but most of the time i died from being shot at.. while attempting to do these things. Cloaking.. ok now where talking. it has just enough to move around abit and to hide. Cloaking was by far the most useful mode. Pretty much every engagement was me moving between cover cloaked to get close to people. and pop em then cloak again etc etc. I am playing on Normal difficulty though... but just meh. Why have a super suit that seems to me about as super as a squirrel. Sure constantly running faster is ok for travel. quick burst of speed sorta... but was hoping for something abit more. Also not being able to actually take damage in a stand up fight annoys me. not exactly "maximum armor" im not talking godmode or anything here. but i assumed they were gonna make it semi-hard for you to die from being shot so you could use your "super" suit abilities in fights some what. tip: NEVER EVER super speed into a fight like you may have seen in a videotrailer for the game. your usually dead before u stop moving. these KPAs dont have bad aim. although i apparently do. Also the AI is pretty good sometimes... i have noticed some ridiculous bugs. shoot at a guy far off and he stops trys to duck/prone and gets sort of jammed in between warping around like mad. 1 guy went prone by a rock and warped about 10ft away standing up. I can understand being visible and stuff... but a guy on a machinegun turret on a boat thats far enough away so that i can barely make out where he is on it being able to constantly pick me out of dense bushes annoys the hell out of me... why cant i have vision that good? EDIT: forgot to say. despite all that i still enjoyed it throughly and am eagerly awaiting the full game. EDIT2: 4got to mention this. think somebody said something about it earlier in the thread. But i consider myself pretty good. average. moderate at FPSs. My aim aisnt super awesome impeccable. but it isnt half bad. i can usually aim at somebody and shoot tham with ease. I think somebody mentioned this earlier but why do the guns have such bad accuracy? Again im going to play the SUPERSUIT card! Surely this could alleviate some kickback or whatever (im not physicist... or spell checker for that matter) Although i didnt check this maybe being in "strength" mode makes your accuracy better? if not maybe its something that should have been suggested before such a late date. Think i spent most of my time using single fire mode on my rifles as if i even burst fired in auto i never hit anything. The Shotgun was AWESOME though. Even if i shoot and immediately recloak, using a silencer, they still slowly make their way to the position i shot from. I think this is somewhat of a limitation of the current level of AI programming. They're around the perfect mark, but it's difficult to program 'confused' and make it seem believable. They might simply have omitted that phase and taken some shortcuts in the AI programming here. As for the suit, you can take a couple of hits, no matter where you are hit. A headshot is always the end for the NPC's though, and you're not exactly supposed to be able to walk in Rambo style with a constantly firing minigun. An increase in armor strength of about 25% would indeed be nice though. EVE History Wiki

It's still fun in parts but it didn't seem to grab my attention very well. But i just didn't have that much fun playing it compared to COD4 Beta. I might consider buying it if i ever get around to upgrading my PC but theres just too many good games coming out in November and this isn't high on the list ------------------------------------

I love iron sights, and am happy somebody finally implemented them. Was really fun, although I did notice limitations in the AI. They've got no ability to react to cloaking, which makes my job a lot easier, and as mentioned before, if I shoot them from long range they tend to mill around waiting to get shot more. Most of the foliage is still in sprites, while only the big leafy things are interactable. Oh, and I also haven't noticed the AI reacting to me being cloaked, and brushing a leaf aside. Benchmark_gpu i believe theres 1 in either the bin32 or bin64 folders depending which version you run. For me with everything on VERY HIGH i get an average of about 14fps. Deciding to crank up the eycandy i set everything as high as it would go and sat back to watch my computer melt. The melt never came. With fully maxed settings on according to the benchmarking utility that comes with the demo my GPU fps is 27.30, thats on a 8800GTS 320mb, overclocked to 630MHz/1.8GHz, which is pretty much standard GTX gpu speeds. Processor is a dual core 2.33GHz, overclocked to 2.7Ghz. CPU benchmark: 25.06fps. Now i played some of the Demo at the max settings, and with those fps. It felt smooth and was near as damn playable im really impressed with that and almost anyone with a fairly recent computer will be able to run this game at med setting without difficulty and prehaps a more med/high setting, which is what ive now settled with, giving me jaw dropping eye candy along with smooth as a babies arse gameplay. Suddenly my guy existed twice, thanks to overlapping graphics. Looked really weird and was only visible when moving around fast. Some freak gfx glitch which I reckon has to do with getting in/out of vehicles, and shortly thereafter the game crashed. This was my first run in the demo, and I am definitely going to order this. Granted, the graphic bug was rather annoying, but heck, it's a demo. __________

Although i must say if you only played as the Blademaster i can understand what your saying... I have no idea why anyone would play with the Blademaster because the game is 10000x easier as a Marksman.

I added a TAC Launcher (Mini Nuke Gun) to the demo .... All I can say is OMFG this has to be the most powerful gun in any FPS game EVER Then I added a TAC Tank (think of handheld TAC launcher mounted on a tank) thnk 10 times the range and 10 times the Boom. Helecopter is fun to fly to, and loads of other military vehicals u can add. Multiplayer is gonna bloody rock.
