NeoCom
Problems since the change:
1.Inability to monitor the state of the channels (such as local) while minimized. 2.Inability to toggle channels with 1 click (minimized to maximized as opposed to minimized to chat tab to maximized). 3.Inability to select the channel/tab you want maximized without hovering over it first to figure out what it is. 4.Constant flashing.
Possible fixes:
1.Need the option to move channels and channel groups onto the bar. 2.Need the icons of the channels to be something other than GÇ£IGÇ¥ (same can be applied to other minimized windows other than the information windows). 3.Such channels as Local, Incursion, Corp, Alliance that are not player created need their own icon to make them easy to find once they are on the bar. 4.Need the name of the channel and the population of it to be visible while minimized to allow easy monitoring as was possible prior to the change.
Personal Wish List:
Horizontal alignment of the NeoCom as an option in the future.
Side notes:
Anything that continuously flashes will soon begin to get on your nerves, which is why the old NeoCom buttons would flash a few times to get your attention and then remain lit to show you that something has occurred in that tab. Only channel tabs used to blink continuously but the big difference was that you could individually turn the blinking off on each channel.
P.S. WorldGÇÖs Smallest Button aka the overload in the HUD now has a cousin, WorldGÇÖs Smallest Mouse-Over Display aka the Training Queue in the NeoCom.

I envy the level of restraint shown in this post. I tend to get mad as hell when people deliberately set out to break things I enjoy.
+1 for a concise and obvious list of neocom issues which somehow made it through to release. |

+1 OP
I really hope the devs will discuss about the new minimize function, I find frustrating to see all those blue i's icons without knowing which one is the window I want to maximize again. |

I am so done being polite with CCP.
Tried to give them s*it... made me feel better but obviously didn't help much either... ...thankfully that doesn't prevent me from trying even harder.
All they really listen is unsub so that is what I did. AGAIN. These ones are for you mr Optimal and also to the guy behind the wonderful new missile names.
I hope that Hellmar will find a way to spank some brain back to your heads.

...needs to be fixed!
The old NeoCom blink-effect, as described by OP, was GOOD, was visible and clear, how the hell could one mess that up?!
The new blink effect is not only annoying, but if you move your eyes onto it, and look for something, you need a second or two if it is not flashing right now, whereas the old NeoCom would show you without delay, what needed attention! => Great design step backwards, I wonder if you got only interns for coding and design...

You're quite right, that blinking is pretty annoying and having checked, the behaviour is different to the old blink notifications. I've brought this to the attention of the NeoCom team and despite being frantically busy on the next big thing they're now planning to fix the blink behaviour to match what it was like before the new NeoCom was introduced. This change should be on TQ at the end of the month!
:brofist:
EDIT: FYI the old behaviour was: blink - blink - blink - highlight |

I would like to add that the "Ships" context box is closed by default - OPEN IT! I don't want to have to select ships every time I dock FFS.
May just be my client but goddamnerama it's annoying. |

I tested the following steps on our dev server and on TQ and I can't reproduce what you're describing:
- Open 'Ships' while docked
- Undock
- Dock
- Ships window is where I left it
are you doing this and getting a different result? |

Have you considered simply double clicking the top bar of your chat window to minimize it down to a single thin bar (that shows the chat channel names and population) at the very bottom of your screen?
This functionality was not removed. When I check troll in the dictionary, it has a photo shopped picture of you standing somewhere in the vicinity of a point.
Also, I can kill you with my brain. |

Jayem, that sounds like it "might" be a "clear your cache" issue. When I check troll in the dictionary, it has a photo shopped picture of you standing somewhere in the vicinity of a point.

yet u need to move the window after double clicking again in order to be able to read anything.
doing this with the window positioned somewhere on the top of the screen might be the way to go tho, but needs a lot of time for rethinking.

Am just going to throw this in here as an aside to the above-mentioned issues.
Add a "Close to Neo" or "Minimise" option - it'll be a pain to start with but will then open up TRUE customisation of the UI. |

You can try the following but know that performing any of these steps will remove some of your settings, you have been warned:
Your window settings are not saved in the cache, you have to purge them using one of the following methods:
- Your first option is to open the ESC menu in-game and select 'Reset to Default Window Positions'
- If that doesn't work and you're feeling brave you could try 'Clear All Settings' (no prizes for guessing what this will do!)
- Pro Mode: go to this EVElopedia guide on how to manually clear settings in Windows Explorer
I hope this works for you |

Am extremely reluctant to try the others Quote: (no prizes for guessing what this will do!)
The amount of shiznit I will have to reselect boggles my mind...........
EDIT MAJOR STYLE - this did solve the problem but it took a couple of session changes to do so - thanks for your help. Aaaaaaand relax. |

This may be working differently for you, but when I double click the top bar on my other chats (grouped together) it drops to the bottom of my screen (all channel names, etc.) are still visible.
When I do this my local window stays in its position on top of the bar (meaning it drops to the bottom of the screen as well).
When I double click again, both windows resume their normal positons on the screen. When I check troll in the dictionary, it has a photo shopped picture of you standing somewhere in the vicinity of a point.
Also, I can kill you with my brain. |

By the way, why was the current day of the month removed from the time display (at the bottom)? I was quite used to it and found it useful. It also was a bigger button for opening the calendar...
(Or did I miss some new setting?)

Allow chat channels to be minimised to bar with a small overlay showing channel count / abbreviated label. Also allow the option to disable auto grouping for other windows like agent conversations. Making people hover over multiple grouped buttons to try and find the one they want is in no way whatsoever an improvement. This is pants on head stupid. It hurts me inside to think that someone was getting paid for this.
Option of setting windows to not be displayed on neocom unless minimised such as cargohold, scanner etc.
Some kind of divider between actual neocom buttons and minimised window butttons(tabs).
Clock/calendar display options.
Option to display either poorly rendered small character portrait or character name.
Move skill training information rollover from tiny skill progress bar back to character button / character portrait / character name.
Option to disable skill progress bar, seems a bit out of place.
More options, less :awesome: please. |

I'd also like to point out how completely useless unnameable/uncolorable/unIconchangeable groups are currently. And that you cant drag buttons through multiple groups and can only take buttons away from them. Realistically I could see a group two deep for browser+notes/calc etc than to browser bookmarks. Yet currently its just another broken feature as every group is just "group" and looks the same tell you see whats inside. http://i874.photobucket.com/albums/ab303/Firetempest/groupmaze.png |
