A couple little Q's.
If I am correct in assuming that the only good mods come from npc bs spawns? (which I for one can not find because they have removed the event rats.. as well I have once before gone 50 jumps away from empire space, spending 2hs doing so to get there and back, and still only found 45k-55k rats when there were 85k rats in 0.0 right next to empire space but thatÆs a whole different story)
(please correct me if I am wrong)
And since the only kind of ships that can take npc bs spawns are pc bs I am wondering why the lower level frigate spawns, which us n00bs in frigates take on don't drop frigate loot which is actually good? I mean if everyone complains about the overuse of bs why not make the smaller spawns more useful and actually make sense to use a small ship?
(please correct me if I am wrong)
And please, if you have any information to where a cruiser can go to get worth while loot please inform me. Because when I take on 85k ships they donÆt drop anything really worth while.(which take me a fair amount of time and also loose me security status because my last missile hurts the can and counts as an act of aggression against "_").
To reiterate, why donÆt lower level spawns(meaning other the bs spawns) give some rares? (that are actually worth something)

p.p.s. I don't have 5hs to explore a whole region for good spawns. I have devoted time before which was fruitless.

I'll presume that no one wants to help me out with where to hunt because they dont want to share.. although supposedly this game is about interacting with people.. whatever..

well used to be i could find battleship spawns in the 0.0 empire and the near 0.0 space but i havent found any in a long while

i am afraid that most of them are in Fountain, Venal and Curse, perhaps you can ask the FA or the PE guys for a hunting pass.

Frigates do drop good loot... for frigates. And cruisers drop good loot... for cruisers. Likewise, battleships drop good loot... for battleships.
What makes the BS loot so valuable is a simple case of supply and demand. There is HUGE demand for say, an armful of 425 gausses, but stuff all demand. Hence, they are worth a LOT of money.
If you're flying a cruiser, go bash cruisers. They drop rare loot that is appropriate for use in a cruiser. Hell, in the past few sessions of hunting, I've pulled rare heatsinks and rare lasers all over the place, and I've only fought cruiser rats. No battleships at all.
As an aside... HEY! You're the guy who was complaining that BS spawns weren't tough enough, when he hadn't even fought them! Gone out and tried one yet? :)

The abandoned stations have nice loot drops- and are ideal to hunt in a cruiser

The only 'interaction' CCP encourages is that of various weapons with a victims hull.
If you want good advice about the game ask Jash Illian. He doesn't mine, NPC hunt and has only PvP'd like twice since release but apparently he knows everything.

For the original poster:
To the best of my knowledge (meaning the last one I shot), a 75k npc pirate is still cruiser class. For rare bship class mods, you'd have to go to areas inside alliance claimed regions. And yes people will be reluctant to tell you where because:
1) They're prolly not supposed to be there and don't want to tell the alliance where to find them.
2) They are supposed to be there, being in the alliance or having worked something out, and don't want everyone else to know where to find them.
Best place, imo, to get rare bship modules is the Bazaar channel. Much easier and faster, tho you'll pay for it.

Not sure if it's changed recently or not but spawn containers also had a chance of dropping bship level modules, sometimes rare versions.

yea and noobs arent invited caus we dont want to scrape the 100000 body layers of our asteroid belts full of npc battle ships
and for other resons to...so dont come to curse or any of its surounding teretorys :) caus if you do then you will die :| bad for you good for me :P

Good items have a better chance being found on the trade channel.
An Curse is a war zone, noob or not, anyone not in CA will get shot from CA. Like I said, you've been warned.
