Yes
(although you'd be buying isk in this case, not selling it)

Originally by: Jago Kain Largely, the main reason folk get upset is because they either lack the ISK to buy GTCs, and thus play for "free" like some of us do, or they lack the irl funds to buy GTCs to sell for ISK.
Nah, it's because it's cheating. RL should not matter when it comes to how much assets you have access to ingame.
Originally by: Jago Kain How likely is it to change do you think?
Very unlikely

Playing devil's advocate here...
"Ah, so, you mean, just because I work 12 hours a day 6 days a week and earn 200k $ per year and I'm unable to play more than 4-5 hours of EVE per week, I shouldn't be able to have a lot of assets in-game, but that highschooler who can afford to play 12 hours a day 6 days a week but never worked a single day in his entire life should ?"

Pretty much, yes.
It's impossible to make it 100% fair, but at least it'd be better that way.

Originally by: Akita T If it's impossible to make it 100% fair, why not leave it unfair in the way CCP gets more money out of ?
Because I consider the ability to buy isk to be a problem, while having the time to play more is not a problem even though it makes it less than 100% fair.

Originally by: Lazaroth A Noob with 5bill ISK is still a Noob.. ISK can't buy you skill (and no I dont mean the skillbooks )
You seem to be under the impression that noobs only compete with non-noobs. This is wrong. So even if only noobs would be allowed to buy isk, it'd still be an issue.

Originally by: Imperator Jora'h Apparently CCP does not agree with you. CCP wrote a blog on the evils of ISK buying. Yet CCP enables GTC selling. They spent developer time to code the web page and the game to support it. From that would you not suppose that maybe, just possibly, CCP does not see this the same as you? If they were SO bent out of shape over the evils of ISK buying please explain why CCP support GTC sales in game for ISK.
The question is not whether it is allowed or not. The question is whether it should be allowed or not.

Originally by: Imperator Jora'h So. CCP hates people buying ISK. They put a blog out about it. It "HURTS THE GAME". Fine. You have yet to explain to me why CCP not only permits but facilitates GTC sales for ISK. You are dodging that one. If CCP is so vehement on this issue and it is their game why allow GTC sales?
The question was not directed at me, but I'll answer anyway.
They do it because they want ppl to be able to but gtc:s with isk. That way, it's possible for more ppl to play the game, since it's possible to play without paying any rl money.
Whether ppl agree with that reason or not is another matter. I don't like it myself, since while it does solve one issue it creates lots of more and (imo) far worse issues.

It's not there as a countermeasure to illegitimate isk sellers, it's a way to get more subscriptions.
That said, I'm fairly certain that the person who wrote the blog is of the opinion that it shouldn't be allowed to sell gtcs for isk. I think I've actually seen such a post by whoever wrote it, but I cba trying to find it.

And...
Originally by: sheis I think that them allowing GTC sales has nothing to do with a reaction to "illegal" isk sellers. They dont even take a hard line stance with illegal isk sales. If caught you get the isk removed...thats it. Off the top of my head i cant think of a game were breaking the EULA for something related to RMT isnt an instant ban.
So both of your opinion is, put more bluntly, CCP are greedy bastards who will do whatever for a subscription and to hell with the game?
Just asking...
I consider that to be a possibility, but I don't have inside knowledge. They do seem to care a lot about the game, but that doesn't mean that every decision they make is a good one.
