I'll be honest, I've considered giving logistics ships a shot but in all honesty they've always had issues for me.
Low drone space (25m3 on all but the oneiros' 50m3), though HAS style resistances are always nice, and the strong risk of them getting primaried.
Well, with full logistics 5 light drones are medium and mediums are heavy, in terms of rep, and if the logistics ship happens to be gang leader to call primary on whoever's shooting at him/her I suppose it could be a Very Bad Day for whoever's trying to kill you.
Still, just not something I'd consider doing full time, though we've got 2 people in my corporation who are just loopy enough to want to.
Of course, it occurred to me earlier...
With all the Eos pilots that are going to quit once the 'nerfs' hit Tranquility there'll be a lot of people out there with decent drone/tank skills that can fly logistics ships.
Maybe they'll switch over.....
On a more serious note, however, I do agree that logistics drones should get some benefit from drone interfacing, as should all drones really, no matter if drone damage is negative (logistics drones), or to other stats than HP (neutralizer, webber, ECM, etc.).
I don't think that the skills to fly and fight with light, medium, and heavy drones should be applicable but drone interfacing should, even if at a reduced rate (5%/level?).
I have not ready of a lot of suggestions on non-combat drone usage in PvP. To me this indicates that either they aren't as good/useful as combat drones are to most people and/or most of the time or that they are quite good and the people who know are trying to keep it a secret.
From what I have heard the former seems more probable and it would be nicer if, as they nerf several drone boats and talk about more and more varied waves of drones, CCP would also make those "more and more varied" drones a bit more effective if they're non-combat drones.
Of course it'd also be nice if they implemented modified sentry drones that functioned as short-range no-travel defender missiles but I doubt that'd happen.
Any rate, late, tired, wandering.
On a final note, it would be interesting to see, at least on the test server to see how it would work, fleet command ships modified so that they have one less gank bonus and had it replaced with one that reflects their logistics ship roots. If not that then it would be nice to see a heavy logistics ship in the T2 BC or BS line.
In a sense the new marauder class of ships sounds like a good potential base for a heavy logistics ship in multiple senses of the word. Give them (heavy logistics, not marauders) 25-50m3 of bandwidth to drop out 5 light or medium drones and abandon them to replenish others' drones with a good-sized cargo bay for ammo reloads.
