There was a picture in one of the earlier Dev Blogs of our CEO Hellmar playing EVE at home with his daughter on his lap. He insists Eva was helping him mine. Eva was about 6 months old in the picture.

We've had two guys in our corp younger than 15, remarkably enough both have been AWESOME pvpers.
One joined us age 13, one 14.
Remarkably, one of the two's father is in our corp too, so they play Eve together .
Kick ass wingmen too.

yeah my son helped me also at about 6 months, only good thing is spacebar is not controlling anything in eve, however he managed to kill me and wipe a raid group in wow by hitting spacebar in the middle of a fight and jumping me off a balcony, say bye bye to MT

Knew this one kid that said he was 7 yrs old while on a trial account. I guess his parents gave him a choice between an Eve subscription or a Playstation 3 if he got good marks on a test. I guess he chose the PS3 since I haven't seen him since, or maybe he didn't do so well on the test, and didn't get either, lol.

We have a corpmate who sent the most adorable evemail, I don't have it saved but it said something like: "My daddy plays eve for you, and I want to be like my daddy and play eve for you too." Absolutely broke my heart. Of course I said yes, and he played for about a month. His father said he was seven years old, and he behaved appropriately for a seven year old.

My older grandson, age 6, thinks the greatest way to play is to sit in my home base (on my lap) and strip the fittings off ships and try out different kits, then go out and try to kill pirates in the belts. He picks names for the ships, too... I think one of his best is "Caterpillar Warrior" for the Hyperion he made me buy. He especially likes eclectic high slots -- a little of everything. He's a little annoyed that I specialize in drones and haven't trained missiles or projectiles. He keeps asking me to spend skill points on them.
The middle grandson, age 3, can tell the race of a jump gate and (usually) a station, but isn't really very interested yet.

I think I remember that. He would be on vent in fleet fights and he had this high pitched voice, which sounded almost like a girl. Kept on asking questions even in the middle of a fight.

Jarack is about 17 now i reckon and started at 13.
The one day he started to send me pictures of girls he liked and might maybe someday pop his precious flower is the day i really really felt like a perv and freaked out with myself......me being around 27 then and the girls 15-16-17
The stone age didn't end because we ran out of stones!

I would have started playing when I was 10... except there were no PC's when I was 10... in fact Computers were the size of small buildings back then...
I got my first PC at 22, a TRS-80 model 1, I would have played Eve then but Al Gore had not yet invented the internet...
Now I am almost 50 and thanks to all you folks feeling a lot older then I did before I started reading this thread...

I started out when I was 12, on a trial account, quit for a bit, as I failed to grasp the concept of training skills... Came back a year later and have been playing for a year and a few months now. |
