This is EVE Online. A game of huge complexity, of over five thousand systems and hundreds of thousands of players. ItÆs an awe-inspiring creation, a world teeming with social and political strife, a world where great good and great evil is possible.
TO WHY DO WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH ******** FONTS CCP!!!! 
OK its bad enough hthat we have to deal with this sorry, idiotic excuse for an interface that was obviously made my monkees (obviously ZULUPAK since hes the one behind nerfing my carrier) with a crappy overview poor target selection and without any clearly visible inforation except for how dead you are. But in addition to that silliness we all also hve to deal with how insane the text and all the fonts are on eve are. THIS IS CRAZY CCP! Look at al the other games like Everquest, WoW, Tabula Rasa and Vanguard and their interfacesàdo they have fonts and text like EVE does? NO. No other game goes so far out of the way to improperly use their interfaces space and hurt players eyes while trying to do anything. But the ****ion is easy if some people just get off their butts and get it done.
ADDITIONAL FONT SIZES IN EVE:
There needs ot be more detail in selecting our current font sizes, for real. In the options there needs to be a section where we can set the font size in at least five different options (Very Small -> Very Large). The current font would be very large, (10-12 points or so) and the smallest would be 4 points less (6-8 points). This will let the insane UI designers for eve compact fonts better and try and put more information on the UI and allow people to see more at once.
BENEFITS:
1.More information for fleet commanders if they want to lower the size
2.More information for mission runners (targets/drones)
3.More information on the market screen for carebears
4.People (me) with high-res monitors can take better advantage of this
5.People who are going blind anyway will realize it, get glasses, and stop complaining about it as much
IÆve already sent several petitions regarding this issue and none of them have been addressed yet, so I have no choice but to come to the forums in order for someone SOMEWHERE to implement my ideas. Like I said before its not like it would take a lot of effort (ive worked on web pages so I know) and would only take a couple of days to get put in for Rev. 3 or Trinity of whatever. I know you have that ôcode freezeö but it shouldnÆt be hard to lift it for a couple hours so you can change it.
Its not too hard CCP. GET IT DONE.

As far as I know, they will not be allowing you to make fonts smaller than the current size. this is a problem that needs to be fixed.

I am going to have to disagree with the OP.
The interface to me is more of an OS style, not some gamed up fluff that, as you mentioned, every other game has. That alone is unique to EVE. I find it elegant, familiar, yet new, and incredibly detailed. As you also mentioned, EVE is a huge and complex game, and an OS style interface allows for the kind of drilling to get to all the complexities therein.
I like the interface for this reason.
As for fonts, I have a few friends that play. Some also complain about the fonts.
As UI design is part of my job, I can concede that adding additional font selections isn't really a big deal, and wouldn't hurt to have. As it stands, I play on the highest rez widescreen possible, and I find it find to read, and I am one who wears glasses for driving.
Anyway, we have differing opinions, as often will be the case in a MMO. I can also see you've probably tried many times to get this issue you believe in resolved through the proper channels, and feel great frustation that it hasn't been implemented. This has led you to being more hostile in this regard.
Although I personally feel this will only hinder your case, I wish you luck.

The only thing I think would make a good addition to the inerface is some kind of indication of status effects etc.. on your ship, outside of the 3d graphical display. IE, icon's or similar to show your webbed/scrammed / getting rep's, and who's responsible
its not always easy to tell otherwise.

The UI needs some work but I think the fonts are fine.

How is this exactly contributing in any way to the OP? All you did was tell them they are a whiner, how they nothing of coding, and how you are about to erase them with your "I have no tolerance for any opinion other than my own" tool.

Too large? I run three monitors at 1680x1050 - my eyes get tired after an hour or so.

upgrading the UI, theres nothing upgraded about it, other than the fact that the overview window is modulated (which looks clunk and crappy AT BEST).
Also i dont think the font needs to be made larger or smaller, but rather more...um....uhhh...READABLE. How many times have we all confused 6's for G's, 8's for B's, and 0's for O's?

How do you think the fonts are too big?!? Do you run at 320x480 resolution or what?
Geez, they're tiny, especially at 1600x1200 where I run it. It took me a while to get used to it--when I first started playing, I had to lean up and squint to read half the text. And yes, this is after I changed the options to make it as big as it gets.
I thought the thread was a joke, but the OP seems serious.

Like the OP, I'd really like a font size option. I have to squint to see the text because it's o small (and I don't require glasses).
And why not have a font size option? Because it's bloody hard to make a UI that scales with fonts, and that's why they haven't done it yet
