There are just some leftists (in the US and Europe, but my impression is in the US mostly) who use it incorrectly and call themselves "left wing Libertarians". And you people in the US use the word "Liberal" all wrong (which is really the same thing as Libertarian when we're talking about Classical Liberalism) when you use it to mean basically "half-way moderate Socialist".
