Originally by: E Vile Give the nighthawk some dps love. The other 3 combat command ships totally out dps it. Give it a 7th launcher and change the kinetic dmg to all types like khanids. Just kinetic sucks.
All the command ships are able to tank well. The nighthawks tank is no excuse for it's lack of dps.
Yes it is. The NH tanks better than any other command ship. It tanks on a par with the CNR..maybe even better if you factor in that a semi- or totally- passive tanked NH can run it's tank 23/7.
In any case if stick Navy or faction launchers on it (and all command ships should be flown with such gear to really shine) the damage is plenty good enough for missioning. I think last time I calculated it I was knocking on 300dps with a range of 74km. Factor in the fact the heavies hit all ship sizes useably well and it's fine. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

Originally by: Andrue I believe that the NH is a PvE ship. As such I think it's one of the two top mission runners. A CNR can beat it for mission running speed but you have to know what you're doing and pay attention.
I don't know what you're talking about. My nighthawk with close to perfect skills everywhere (lowest skill is command ships IV) comes nowhere close to a CNR, or even a Raven, for missioning, using cruises.
I trained command ships for the Nighthawk thinking it would be better against smaller targets and was disappointed with the DPS. I don't fly it anymore.
For PvP, it's too expensive, a Drake does the job quite fine.
Maybe you should train up comprehension. Read my post again..you obviously failed to read it last time. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

No, I won't. The 5 lowslots are only good atm because it allows the NH to fit a much needed RCU/PDS easily. Otherwise 7/6/4 is plain better for PVP purposes.
But not for PvE purposes! If you want to do PvP find a different command ship. All the others are good at PvP and okay for PvE. You leave the one dedicated PvE ship alone. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

It's in no way amongst the top two missions runners, what was your point again?
Now your just trolling or else incredibly ignorant. I can run any L4 mission within 10% of the speed of our alliance CNR pilots. It's been a frequently debated and tested subject ever since I got one. Our conclusion is that it's not quite as fast (like it takes 1 hour 5 minutes to complete AE4+Bonus room solo) but it's a far more relaxing experience.
I have a damage output of 307dps with a 74km range. I can tank over 140dps. Specialised tanks have 92% primary resist, 85%+ secondary resist. Omni tank is 81/81/82/85
As I said in my post:The NH is a lazy man's CNR. You lose a little bit of mission running time (from our experience around 10% typically) but you gain by never having to watch your shields or cap if you use a passive tank. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)
