When I'm hauling in empire I WANT* people to attack me. I went on autopilot hoping when I tabbed back to the game I'd find my shields damaged. I've spent a lot of time doing reverse suicide ganking too. I sit outside jita in a t1 hauler with great resists but only medium shields carrying 3 billion in loot. Gankers assess the situation and use a few Domis to try to take down what they think is an AFK noob carebear. They begin to lay into me, and multiple logistics/battleships instantly begin remote repping me. They lose all their stuff, and I pick it up, making an OK profit but getting a more than OK laugh. One thing, you say you had hardeners fitted, and you were alt-tabbed out. Since these are active modules, can I assume that you actually meant passive resistance mods?

So dont act as if your scoring a major victory. Plus you have to be paying attention and active with your repping alts - and as someone who values a haul full of officer mods as 0.0000043% of his net worth... is it worth it? I do applaud you combating suicide ganking in game - rather then whining on the forums though. SKUNK

To answer your question, I really meant to say what I did, "hardeners." But the thing is, when I say that, I mean anything that increases any type of resistance. I know that technically I used the wrong wording and could have been more specific, and I do not fault you for pointing that out to me. Yes, passive resistance stuff was being used. WTS self! SKUNK Actually, it is a decent amount of work and waiting if you really want to make decent money using a few domi's to suicide. At least for me, failing to make a kill after I spent time/effort/ISK/security status would be a bit disappointing if it was to happen. Even if it is not disappointing for the targets who lost their ships and time, it was a good laugh for me, and that is why I did it. You are correct, the profit was not the major driving force. Also, "punishming evil gankers" was not the major driving force. I actually like it that they are in the game. I did it to experience it. People keep giving you advice because you're a mouthbreathing idiot for doing what you did, and to top it off you crap on people more intelligent/experienced that actually bother trying to wake you the f#@k up. You deserve to lose your crap, and morons like you are why there are successful hi sec suiciders. The first few lines of the OP are meant to be worded in a way to make people think the post is someone whining about dying to the "evil" suicide gankers in high-sec space. (Hense me saying a "LOT" of ISK (It is all relative). The tone suddenly changes, however, when suddenly the text reveals I made it through just fine and the only person who lost anything (although not much) was the suicide ganker. Please understand the following sentence carefully: The force required to actually destroy my ship would have cost the suicide gankers more ISK in losses than they could have gained by destroying me. What that means is that I was not doing a stupid thing, just like a freighter pilot carrying 70 million ISK in modules is not stupid. Anyone who tries to kill him for it would be. Because even if they are successful, they lost way more wealth than the freighter pilot did. Some people might be upset losing their freighter, even if they know the attckers lost more ISK than him. But not me. Therefore I did not care if someone destroyed me, since they would be losing more wealth than me. Had I come upon a "real" suicide gank squad, they would have scanned me (my cargo and my ship fittings), seen my setup, calculated the potential profit (or lack thereof), and let me pass by, seeing the losses would not be worth the reward. Do you understand now? Also, when did I ever state that I am somehow morally superior to the would-be suicide ganker?
