b0ing Celebrating Life and Remembering Basgerin	Posted - 2007.11.10 12:58:00 - [1] I was flying through EMPIRE SPACE (.5 security and higher) carrying a load of officer modules worth a LOT of ISK. I was tabbed out playing a game on my PC with autopilot set for Jita. I tabbed back to EVE after 20 minutes or so, only to find that something had happened to my ship! My ship was a Blackbird cruiser. My ship's shields were at 70%. I instantly laughed as I realized that someone (or more) must have attempted a suicide gank on me. Too bad I had 14,000 shields, 3500 armor, and 1416 structure total on my ship, with some additional resistances (tech2 hardeners and extenders/plates). I went through my EVE logs to find who had failed to kill me (and lost their ships in the process) but for some reason "my logs show no record." Actually, I can't even find the correct logs, even though I've searched in all the places they might be (the EVE directory and the windows XP documents and settings user directory. So, if anyone can give me some advice on where I might find the logs, or if anyone wants to step forward who witnessed or was involved in the attempted suicide gank, please do. Oh, to make the title be 100% on topic, WoW is a nice PvE game. Good bye.

The would-be suicide ganker was Olly210 from Cruel Intentions alliance. Seems he was using a ship that uses medium drones, and guns that were doing about 70-200 damage per hit. Not sure what it would be exactly. Would expect heavy drones if it was a domi. He was using Infiltrator II's and probably short ranged guns. Anyways, always remember to scan ship fittings while scanning cargo when you try that.

Also, to ***** my ship it would take (insurance calculated in) more ISK in losses from the gankers than was worth 75% the value of my loot, therefore not profitable. The only reason I was attacked is because I was not ship scanned (was only cargo scanned). Had I been ship scanned as well they would have ran the numbers quickly and realized it was not worth the trouble when they saw my setup. So don't tell me not to auto pilot to Jita. Luck had nothing to do with it. He didn't even get me into armor (which was also plated).

On a side note, I did a quick search on google on the perp and found atleast 4 different killboards he is on, none of them list him as cruel Intentions alliance but then the most recent date on any of the ones I bothered looking at was 2007-09-14 and that was a while ago. It would be interesting to know if he reported this to whatever killboard he is currently using :) Anyhow... good show, bad title.

Well suicide gankers have killed a whole freighter before. but im too lazy to crunch numbers ands ee if thats possible with resists and even worth it for officer mods :P _____

Any ship can be killed in empire if the right force and tactics are used. But only if it is worth it. No one hates me enough to kill me for the sake of killing me, and my loot was not worth what it would have taken to destroy me. So yes, people can even kill freighters, but once again, only if they stand to gain something will they actually attempt it. WTS self! I'ma 50m+ SP pure PVP char! RAAAWR! -Click-
