Talking about EW frigs in general. But what do you propose than? I can imagine plating it allthough that feels wrong with frigs. With a mwd i dont think you can get it cap stabile right? Allthough the ammarian has a nossing bonus, maybe that one can become capstabile with mwd and nos.
Still i think a AB would work, the low sig im combination with the EW warfare should be enough for the heavier ships to take agro in gang and than field these little buggers.
Looking forward to all of them tbh
The amarr frig is by far the worst one. Even with the nos/neut bonus its a FRIG with FRIG sized nos/neuts. Now if it got a bonus to fitting/using heavy neuts that'd be different. You're not gonna be cap stable and with the TD nerf the frig will be pretty pointless.
Oh and there is no way you can lock down the entire enemy gang, you'd have to have an absurd amount of EW(and far superior numbers). 5 Valk IIs will kill that hypothetical AB setup in 5 seconds flat.

Yeh the TD nerf sucks balls. Maybe adding falloff in the TD will unnerf it.
Btw i use frigsized nos on my taranis and it really helps out with the capusage. It maybe be a frigsized nos, but it is a frig capacitor aswell. Im not talking about the ammount of "damage" the nos will do.
I never claimed that anyone could lock down a entire enemy gang. But what if you added 4 of these to your nano-roam gang, for people cant fly recons yet.
I still like em.
4 hyenas would be 5 times better.

Please post a setup where the cap holds on the sentinel. You'd need like all cap mods+ccc rigs to run 3 neuts and a mwd(I dont think you can even run the mwd).

And you would use this over a curse because....

Because you don't have cruisers V yet? Also, I see it being a fair mark cheaper once the inventors get into full swing.
Very true. Its like asking why people use t1 cruisers over BSes. They may just not have the money/skills for them yet.
T1 cruisers are far more agile and faster. The sentinel will not be more agile/faster than a nano-curse.

Originally by: HarryManback you make a viable point and i realise that my analogy was ineffective. It would be like using a t1 cruiser instead of a HAC.
No your original analogy is correct, the EAS frigs are different ship classes compared to recon cruisers.
For example, the hyena is not obsoleted by the huginn/rapier. Why? Because they are faster/more agile and have much better locking time, which are very important factors for webbing. Plus hyenas can easilly outrun warrior IIs, which is very important.
The sentinel offers no real benefit over nano-curses and will be ripped apart by light drones...

Originally by: HarryManback which is where the MWD comes in... also it has drones of its own to take them out.
The sentinel isnt fast enough to outrun light drones.
And 4 light drones will not kill 5 before they kill the sentinel itself.

Wait, how is that setup cap stable with all 3 neuts going? Thats 18 cap/s for the neuts alone, no way you have that kind of recharge.

Originally by: Aegis Osiris You don't sustain the neuts. You aren't going to run neuts constant on a frig, no matter WHAT the bonus. The point is to run them ENOUGH to kill off the other guys cap.
Use the neuts manually, and your cap will remain usefully stable and you'll effectively hammer your targets cap. Remember, this is a gang setup.
Then why would you use 3 neuts instead of 2 and a nos?

Except you cant sustain the drain from 3 neuts for more than a couple of cycles..

And you're missing the point. It's a frigate burning BS caliber amounts of cap. Thats a very good little ship.
Except it CANNOT do that. The only way to sustain 3 neuts is to fit all cap relays, cap rechargers, and ccc rigs.
In any reasonable setup(read nanoed), you might be lucky to run 1 neut with the mwd.

Erm what? 4400m/s with an ab? Is that with full HG snake set and all the hardwirings?
And warriors will still rip it apart at that speed, and precision lights/heavies are far too fast to be outrun.
You need around 9km/s minimum to outrun precision lights.

Sentinel Corpii A-Type Nos, 2x TS Sm Neuts Gistii A-Type MWD, Domi Warp Disruptor, Blamer TD, Draclira's Mod Cap Recharger 2x Domi Overdrive, 1x Domi Nano 2x Poly II Full HG Snake Set, Rogue implants, etc
Mindlinked Claymore with Rapid Deployment
20.6 km/sec, fast enough? ;-)
Oh, but the Domi nano is really expensive so you could consider dropping down to a Nano I.
Liang
And then a huginn webs and instapops you. Congrats on losing a multibillion isk frig.
Dont be an idiot, t2 fit.
