Has anyone else noticed that recently the amount of consecutive jam cycles your put though during level 4s is sort of ridiculuos? I was running a mission, can't remember what one but it was against guristas, I couldn't lock anything for twenty minutes, jame after jam after jame, since i was being warp scrambled I nearly lost my ship, but managed to throw drones on the scrambler in time. I know the idea off missions is to fight pirates, and getting jammed every now and then is fine, but to be jammed 12 times in a row... come on thats just harsh

Actually, from everything I've heard, ECCMs do NOTHING against NPC jammers. They are only effective against other players.
It seems the NPC ships operate on an entirely different set of rules than player ships. For example, they have a finite capacitor reserve from which to NOS from (as in they don't recharge). Also, their shield/armor boost do not use capacitor, using Energy Neutralizers simply decreases the "chance" they will repair so you can never stop them from repairing permanently. Thirdly, NPC ships with ammo-using weapons have infinite ammo. Last thing I can think of: they can use MWD in deadspace.
I'm sure there are a lot more of this sort of stuff but I"ll leave it to others to point them out.

Unfortunately ECCM has no effect whatsoever against NPC's as their ECM is fixsed propablility. They can jam even motherships (whitch are totally immune to all forms of electronic warfare). ECCM helps only against player ECM.

Yup, thought so. . Unfortunately, that means you'll just have to tough those missions out/use drones/reject those missions. After CCP nerfed the lvl 4 missions, there should not be any which can potentially perma-jam you as long you as you control the triggers correctly and don't get an as*load of Pith Jammers on you. The worst I've seen is maybe 70% jammed in terms of overall time (The Assault's 2nd stage, I believe). But that decreases dramatically once you start taking out the jammers.
Also, an obvious point: take out the jammers first! The Dire ships have the best chances of jamming (around 35% for those ships with the jamming ability) so target these first. Then take out the Pith Elimiators and Exterminators as those are the BS with jamming capabilities (but pretty low, like less than 5%) so they take second priority.
My advice for taking on Guristas version of "The Assault" 2nd room:
As soon as you warp in, move AWAY from the Dire Cruisers (Dire Assaulters, I believe). When you're about 60 km or more away from them, target those cruisers and start firing while moving away at the same time. This should give you enough time to take out the cruisers before you get jammed too heavily (since you'll be out of BS jamming range and out of Cruiser's optimal jamming range).

I ran a level 2 mission last night (grinding for one corporation) and wound up perma-jammed for 25 minutes, even after warping out I wasn't in any danger, but it was sure boring.
Glad I normally run level 3s and 4s.......

2nded. Works beautifully. They jamjamjam a ship that's solely there to soak DPS & jam cycles, while your pure DPS fit can spankspankspank the rats. -- Support fixing the EVE UI | Suggest Jita fixes

Gravimetric ECCM DO work in missions like 'The Assault'. I just fit a 96% one and get hardly jammed at all. I agree that without one the jamming is pretty annoying

You most likely got just lucky as in propability based systems it is possible to get 'lucky' and not be jammed at all in some missions while another guys can rant how he got 'permajammed' somewhere. There is dev comment somewhare (I'm too lazy to hunt it down atm) that ECCM does not affect NPC jamming propablity. It was in one of those various Marauder threads where people were worried that those new ships would be useless against jamming rats due to their low sensor strenght.
ECCM does NOT work against NPC's.
