Originally by: Jin Entres Roughly, it would seem you need over 35-40% of your skills to be charisma primary for it to be worth it to have high starting charisma.
This conclusion is grasped out of thin air... just replace "charisma" with any other attribute to see what I mean.

Yes they are all charisma primary (wil sec), and all social are charisma primary (int sec). C|S|I|N|x. |

Originally by: Ruah Piskonit I am personally too attatched to my character(s) to sell and would feel like I had somehow bought something that would never be mine if I did ever buy a character - which I never will. And yes, it is not logical or realistic to think this. . .
Ultimatly, I agree with Verone. Character sales are not healthy, neither is GTC selling for ISK by players - just throws everything out the window in my book.
I agree with this.

The number of available charisma skills, however, is disproportionate to the amount of available skills of other attributes. The variation of training paths, specialisation and utility is also much wider for every other attribute; leadership orientation is a marginal playing style, as is corporation management. And getting 30% of your skills to be charisma based means major specialisation, more and more level 5 skills with less and less efficiency. Most people who need corporation management, trading or social skills do not need or want more than level 4 on every skill (which there aren't many). Many of the first two are alts created for corporation management purposes and many of the latter are mission runners whose primary need in skills lie with other attributes.
Furthermore, the importance (or quality) of skills to different utilities is not in balance. A trader's efficiency does not depend on trading skills as much as a miner's or a mission runner's efficiency depends on their mining, refining, weapons etc. skills.
Leadership is only useful for non-solo players, very rarely for mission runners, and even in optimised use only one gang mod of one type applies its bonus. All these factors discourage people from training charisma primary skills, and when those skills are needed, they work best in lieu with other skills with more emphasis. Thus the charisma attribute is rarely viable to have any higher than other attributes.
And the number is not out of thin air, it's the average percentage of the examples I used. You could test if it holds for a wider range of total SP, assuming you agree with my math otherwise, but my estimate is that it does.

Ah, if you put it like that, you are correct... a "30+% charisma main SP" pilot is a heavily specialised pilot, indeed. However, I was merely referring to the "x% to become worth having it high" part, which does apply to any attribute, not just charisma. C|S|I|N|x. |
