Skill points, specialization, learning skills, all matter. For me, if I ever were going to purchase a character, the name would be immensely important. I wouldn't want a name that was misspelled, or just plain stupid.
I always figured Dense Veldspar or Massive Scordite would go for a fair amount.
If I had to create a new account, I might go for Nobody as my new name (assuming it wasn't already taken). "Nobody is primary!" "Who has you scrammed? Nobody!" ------------

A while back I tried to make a char with a good name I liked. Was surprised about how many names are already occupied. Its ridiculous how many useless alts are taking up extra space. Some might have even been deleted.
IĈm pretty sure that 90% of the names suggested above are already in.

I am personally too attatched to my character(s) to sell and would feel like I had somehow bought something that would never be mine if I did ever buy a character - which I never will. And yes, it is not logical or realistic to think this. . .
Ultimatly, I agree with Verone. Character sales are not healthy, neither is GTC selling for ISK by players - just throws everything out the window in my book. ----

as the gang moves out a few jumps someone says that ''no1one is following us'' at this point im thinking the entire gang has been smoking some good ****, then the fc tells me to stop ****ing about and give no1one a invite as hes only a jump behind.

I get more out of the game because I identify with my character somewhat. I couldn't imagine playing as anyone else. I'd only sell if I was going to quit eve for good. probably not worth that much either... 19M SP but a lot of skill choices that reflect what I want to do rather than the minimax consensus.

Id never paid a single isk for a character named The Doctor, The Master, Captain Kirk, Han Solo, Bobba Fett, Macgyver, or Matlock. No matter how many houndred million SP they got. I would be too ashamed to ever undock.
Or maybe i would buy them and let the account go inactive to make sure i never had to meet a McGyver or captain kirk in EVE.

I'd pay more for something super specialized in one race i really want to fly rather than mediocre in three races, plus has a nice name and looks i.e. isn't an Achura named "isdfkjhs".
Assets are usually thrown in to sweeten the deal when the character is lacking or seller doesn't want the hassle of selling stuff separately, and as part of the batch they sell cheaper than you can sell them separate.

That depends, though. I'd also value a character that is specialised in a ship class and can proficiently fly several races in that class. Personally for example I fly three races and the usefulness of skills like HAC V, CS V and Recon V is therefore a lot more than it is for someone strictly of one race.
I would never buy an Achura either. I probably wouldn't use one even if I got it free.

They make pretty decent industrialists, gang boosters and mission runners We have an intaki very old char in our corp, and he's choke-full on leadership/social skills, loads of L5s there, about 7 mil SP out of the roughly 30 he has.
Here are all leadership skills (ranks):
Leadership (1) Armored Warfare (2) Armored Warfare Specialist (5) Siege Warfare (2) Siege Warfare Specialist (5) Skirmish Warfare (2) Skirmish Warfare (5) Information Warfare (2) Information Warfare Specialist (5) Mining Foreman (2) Mining Director (5) Warfare Link Specialist (6) Wing Command (8) Fleet Command (12)
Total: 62 ranks. One rank equals 256,000 SP, therefore 62 equals 15,872,000 SP when trained to level 5.
Now let's assume that all of these skills are charisma primary, which I'm pretty sure aren't but since I have no access to the game at the moment, I can't list the proper attributes. If primary, charisma will dictate 2/3 of the training pace. Therefore, 2/3 * 15,872,000 = 10,581,332 SP.
Let's say that a balanced character has half of his non-charisma skills int/mem and half per/wil (no matter which is primary). Now, a 30m SP character with all leadership skills at 5 would therefore have 19.42m (effective) SP that does not use charisma, and at equal proportions divided to the remaining four attributes that amounts to 4.85m SP used for each. For such a character, charisma would be more useful than any other attribute. For it to be equal with other attributes, such a character would need to have 52.9m SP.
Most characters however are either int/mem or per/wil oriented, which means that usually more than 2/3 of their SP will be using those attributes. For such a character of 30m SP, about 6.47m SP would be used by each dominant attribute if they trained all leadership skills to level 5. At 40m SP, the figure would be 9.8m SP, only 0.8m short of what charisma uses.
15M in leadership or any charisma using skills combined is quite unrealistic, and even 5M is rare and considered specialisation. With 7.5m (which is 5m effectively used by charisma as primary), if 2/3 of your other skills are either int/mem or per/wil (or mem/int or wil/per), at 20m total SP you stop gaining advantage from higher charisma and start losing. That point comes sooner if either of the dominant attributes is willpower because it also contributes to leadership skills.
Roughly, it would seem you need over 35-40% of your skills to be charisma primary for it to be worth it to have high starting charisma. ---
