Can someone set me up nicely with a Nighthawk perma tank Loadout plx? Passive or Active makes no mind to me but ive never tried passive tanking before.

1 photon 2, 2 invuln 2's 2 LSE 2's 2 spr 2's 1 pdu 2, 2 bcu 2's 2 shield extender rigs
if you have the fitting and cap skills drop the pdu for another dmg mod.
its not the strongest passive tank out there, but it handles all lvl 4's except the bonus room for angel extravaganza without warping out. also has a nice dmg out put, max skilled its on par with a raven.

2 large shield extenders t2 2 invulv fields t2 1 passive em hardner t2 3 spr`s 2 bcu`s t2 2 shield recharge rigs
gives you (with maxed cap skills) 110 or so peak recharge with resists 75/85/85/85 (or similar, cant remeber the exact values) handles any lvl Iv done except one time when I had pirate invasion against sanhsa and for some reason the entire room auto aggroed on me...one warp put only tho.

Fit this if you're runing missions or NPCing:
HML x6 LSE II 3x rat specific hardeners x2 (fit 2 kinetic for guristas, don't argue this, just do it) 3x BCU II 1x SPR II 1x PDU II
Takes some good fitting skills, I think AWU V is needed among them. Throw in some cheap #5 shield hp/regen implants and 3% rof/heavy missile dmg implants and you're good to go. -------------- Providing standard ammunition creation and disrtibution at a nullsec station near you. |

My Setup:
6x Heavy Missile Launcher
3x Large Shield Extender II 1x Invul II 1x Magnetic Scattering Amplifier
2x Ballistic Control System 2x Power Diagnostic System 1x Shield Power Relay
Works like a charm and out-tanks any ship i've come across. DPS lacks, but what do you expect? =]

Forget plunging resist holes with single hardeners, use more extenders or rechargers instead, unless its a mission specific resist and then you shouldn't be using invu fields anyway. Sig removed for the third time, inappropriate content. Sig Locked. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] - Cortes |

6x HMLII
1x Photon Scattering II, 1x Invul, 2x LSE, 1x Shield Recharger II 3x BCUII, 2x SPRII.
It's a Nighthawk. You don't need to max out resists to do any L4 out there.
There is fighting, and then there is fighting: Some weapons are more useful than others, and not all battles must be won. |

Ditto! Plus add in a 5% implant and a 15% siege warfare link and I get over 15,000 hp with 2 LSEII

Well if i where u i would use the 5th low slot on the nighthawk . then i would see wot NPC's i was fighting in this site then tank them correctly. The pasive em resist is only gonna take ur em resist up 2 50%.

I am new to the Nighthawk, but not to L4s. I have run thousands in CNRs and Rattlesnakes but here is my current setup: 6 Arb heavies 1 med dim NOS 1 Dread Mag, 1 Dread Kin, 2 Invul 2s, 1 Large SB2, 3 BCU 2s, 2 PDU 2s, 1 core defence and 1 Bay loading. this gives EM 76.1, Ex 84.5, Kin 90.7, Therm 88.4 resists I find it to be adequate in all L4s but weak in the firepower department even with a 4.64 sec ROF. I think the major strength of this ship will be as a fleet booster, with the right warfare link and appropriate skills. Hopefully time will confirm that :)

Edited by: Ogul on 23/11/2007 16:10:45 Just because no one seems to like active tanking:
3 Capacitor Flux Coil II 2 Ballistic Control System II
Large Shield Booster II 2 Shield Boost Amplifier I (T2 fits too, I just don't have the skills yet) Photon Scattering Field II Invulnerability Field II
6 Heavy Missile Launcher II
2 Capacitor Control Circuit I
An average of 548 dps tanked, 327 (kin) or 272 (other) missile dps with lvl 4 skills.

Edited by: Gul Rashen on 23/11/2007 16:25:47 If you have a lot of ISK:
6 CN Heavy Missile Launcher
Gist C-type Large Shield Booster, CN Boost Amp, 2 CN Invuls, CN Magnetic Res Amp
4 CN BCS, Cap Flux Coil II
2 CCC-Rigs
If you have a lot, lot ISK:
6 CN Heavy Missile Launcher
Pithum A-type Medium Shield Booster, CN Boost Amp, 2 CN Invuls, Pithum A-Type Magnetic Res Amp
4 CN BCS, Damage Control II
2 CCC-Rigs
The Pithum A Fitting is the one of the most expensive except Officerfittings, but has the best possible Perma/Omnitank and a Lot of Damage with the 4 BCS. I'm able to permatank AE-Bonus with it and have in some Missions a better Killspeed than in my CNR. And yes, you don`t need it to make lvl4 Missions, but why not if you have the money

Get your leadership skills up. Siege warfare specialist V (+warfare link specialist)and a gangmod will give a big big bonus . I currently run a NH with a T2 shieldbooster and T2 shieldboost amp and i can perma run it.
And your gangmate (necessary for the bonus) doesnŠt have to be in the mission. He can float outside a station in a shuttle

When I'm forced to run for sec status,
6 HM IIs
2 Rat specific Hardeners 1 DG Invul 2 LSE IIs
4 BCU IIs 1 SPR II
2 purger rigs
Just don't stupidly aggro the whole room. The tank is plenty otherwise, so I go for max DPS. --------------
