Azriel Maximus posted a story from Sunday night, here is mine from Saturday night. This was still a Not In My Backyard weekend so we were not allowed to shoot the other side in Hageken or Autaris.
I don't know exact times, but it was late US TZ Saturday night. I logged in for a bit before going to do laundry, joined a fleet that was up, and was offered FC as the current FC was in an Exequror and wanted to focus on that instead of target calling. So I took over and moved the fleet into Akon to see if any reds wanted to fight.
Before joining the fleet Thrawn and myself saw a Red fleet over in Vaajaita but my scouts in Blue fleet reported them safed up. So while we waited for them to make their move we bumped around Akon. Got a few stray kills, ganked really, nothing great. Finally made the call for someone to grab some probes and see if we could grab the Red fleet that way.
At this point our fleet was 3 Maller, Vexor, Caracal, 2 Exequror, a single destroyer, and a bunch of frigs. Intel said the red fleet was 4 cruisers, frigs, destroyers, and I had seen a Drake around. Blues still out numbered them but they were not going anywhere.
Just as our probes were getting into Vaajaita I ordered the Blue fleet onto the Vaajaita gate in Akon. Moments later I got a report the Reds were leaving the system, but they were not jumping into Akon. I knew immediately where they were going. Jan -> Nalvula -> Vourrassi -> Hageken. I ordered the fleet to align Hag, checked with others in the fleet to ensure we could pass through Hag so long as we did not engage, and then gave the order to move as fast as possible into Hag. I moved the fleet through Hag together to help ensure no one did something stupid, like shoot a Red in Hag during NIMBY.
As we jumped out of Hag scouts reported that Red fleet was already well in Nalvula. I had to engage them on the Nalvula -> Vourrassi gate because if I engaged them on the Vourrassi -> Hag gate they could jump through without fighting and I couldn't get them in Nalvula, they were already there and could be anywhere in system. So it was a race. We had to get to the gate before they did. Who has the longer warp? God damn at this point I really wished I knew that information because that is what it came down to. Who had the longer warp! While in Vourrassi we passed several Red members, assuredly warning their fleet of our position.
We began landing on the Nalvula gate and there was a single Red ship sitting on it, can't remember what it was but I gave the order for our frigs to push it through. Scout still reported Red fleet sitting at 0 on the gate not moving. After the Red ship left the scout reported Red fleet beginning to scatter, not going in a single direction. I gave the order for frigs to jump through only to realize they had aggression. Woops! Held the fleet while we waited out the aggression timer.
Then a Red Drake de-cloaked from jumping through to us. Blew my mind and I was not expecting it. Our fleet was not ready for it either and he got away. Was a bit sad about that but no big deal. Scout reported that the Reds had not fled back to Jan but in fact were safed up somewhere in system. I gave the order for the fleet to jump through and then began splitting us up over the Jan and Vourrassi gates in Nalvula. This is when I noticed it. A 70 AU warp from Jan to Vourrassi. That was it, I knew it. That was why we made it to the Nalvula gate at the same time they did. Damn did that make me happy, but I was also now risking the fleet split up, but I figured we had the numbers.
I was satisfied at this point. A bit sad we missed the Drake and the Reds, but the thrill of racing to cut them off was awesome. Then the Red Drake came back into Nalvula. WTF! BAIT! TRAP! MUST BE! Red fleet will be right behind it. ****, I have no scouts in Vourrassi, they could have more coming from RHQ in Hageken to meet with the fleet in Nalvula. I should run. Must be a trap... **** that. KILL THE DRAKE AND DIE FIGHTING!
I gave the order and we began hammering the Drake and I called the Jan gate squad back to the Vourrassi gate to engage the Drake while asking for bumps from our frigs and more damn webs! While watching a Drake slowly die I was hammering my D-Scan waiting for the Reds, it took a few minutes but they appeared on it. By the time they landed the Drake was entering armor. We killed it and moved onto other targets burning through the list of targets fast and hard.
In the end we lost a single Caracal and I don't think anything else from that fight. We snagged a few cruisers, a BC, and a couple frigs. I was worried the entire time reinforcements from RHQ would be coming up to pincer us. My best guess is the Red fleet wanted to use the Drake as bait when engage us while we pounded on it but they were over almost at the Jan gate and had to warp the whole way. That is my guess, I don't know for sure.
In the end it was a gank no doubt and I must hand it to Reds for bringing the fight. If they had not moved to Jan I was about to start asking people to ship down from their cruisers to even the odds as we out numbered the Red fleet, but with them moving to Jan I had no time and had to move the fleet fast to try and cut them off.
Big props to our to logi pilots, kept me and a few other members of the fleet alive like a couple of pros. I didn't even have to ask for reps when I was primaried and I am glad for that as I totally forgot while I was calling targets. The fleet as a whole was very good as well. Moved fast, was where I wanted them, the scouts preformed wonderfully, and everyone (mostly anyways) stayed on the primaries. Could not have asked for a better fleet.
After the fight we moved back to Autaris through Jan and I left fleet to go do laundry.
A big thank you to Blues for letting me FC that fleet and Reds for bringing it. The chase to cut off the Reds was worth the entire fleet alone for me. |

Apparently it has brought us to a lot of peoples attention as we have gotten a pretty substantial number of applications. Great time to join, lots of other newer pilots around. |

Mostly bored to death lately spinning ships and falling asleep shooting rocks and 'bergs. I have mad gunnery skills(elite) in frigs, cruisers and bc's. Do I need a naked clone just to be on the safe side in R--v-B? Which side needs a Rifter pilot?
You don't need a naked clone. One of the RvB rules is no podding so it should be safe. Still you should be trying to get your pod out ASAP as accidents do happen, but no one is fitting stupid fast locks to try and kill pods. As for which side needs pilots, after the serious number of new pilots today I have no clue. Pick one and go. We can try and balance it a bit more pilot wise once things settle down and until then just balance it with what ships get brought. |

Honestly dude, you don't need to. We have people who are just a few days or weeks old and they have a great time. Just bring lots of Rifters and have a good time. |

Slave Maker wrote:We had a lot of new guys join up over the past couple days. Glad to see it. Hope you all enjoy it as much as the rest of us do! For those that weren't there, here was their introduction to RVB... http://rvbeve.com/red/?a=kill_related&kll_id=157747Welcome aboard! Now fit some new ships for tomorrow ;)
I came here to post this but Slave beat me to it. If his link does not work try this one: http://tinyurl.com/82osx4w
The fight spanned about 1 hour 15 minutes. Blues killed 329 ships for an approximate value of 3.09B ISK. Reds killed 241 ships for an approximate value of 2.79B ISK.
The efficiency at the end was 52.54% for Blue which means it was a very close and fair fight. I know some people that came back in 7 ships because they kept dying, along with a few who never lost one ship.
This was after another fight and just before yet another fight happened. Lots of Pew Pew to be had guys if you want it. :D
As of writing this Dotlan shows Akon with 1,264, Hageken at 542, and Autaris with a small 70. That is the kills in the last 24 hours. 24 hours and almost 2,000 kills. This is going to be a good weekend. |

Sounds like just what Ive been looking for.....
and when Im not fighting.....do you need any industrialists??
Del Delvechio, the CEO of RvB, will buy any amount of minerals you mine. No joke, he consumes a very very large amount of raw materials for his production. |

Ilandrin Yona wrote:Despite being an old-ish player (Jan 2007) I'm terrible at PVP. Been mostly into industry and missions. But I would like to get better at PVP. So would RvB be a good place to learn or are you looking more for people who are already good at it?
Perfect place to come. I have been playing this game since 2003 and been entirely industrial focused. I had maybe shot one or two people. You can actually see here on eve-kill exactly what I had killed: http://eve-kill.net/?a=pilot_detail&plt_id=105810
I joined RvB in November of 2011 and in the four months since I joined I have gotten 1,000 kills and am leading fleets in mass. Join now. My recommendation is to start with T1 frigs fit T1. Learn to lose them in mass. That is what I did. If you look at my losses they start as all T1 fit Incrusus or Rifters. Now I am starting to fly T2 ships but everything is T2 fit. Soon Faction ships. Just get used to loosing stuff in mass and have a good time. |

Take a look at our forums. There are several topics you will want to take a look at:

Shadow Soul wrote:I just came back to Eve last weekend after being away from the game for about two and a half years (apart from a couple of very brief returns) and I have to say that Red vs Blue sounds very interesting to me. I never really got into pvp when I was playing before, but I've always been interested in it.
My question though is, what is the situation if you join Red or Blue but you want to do some solo mining or mission running? If you in Lonetrek doing some mining are you likely to jumped on if someone from the other side bumps into you? Or are rules to say that 1 on 1 combat has to be pre-arranged or anything like that? Or is it just a case of doing your PVE in another system?
Combat between RvB members is limited to the Lonetrek region. So if you are outside of Lonetrek you are safe from fellow RvB members. HOWEVER it is important to note that RvB often times is at war with third party entities that will come find you and kill you anywhere. So if you do go do something like that, pay attention to local. The other option is to drop RvB for a few days and come back. We are quick to accept applications and members are free to come and go as often as they like. :) |

There numbers are from CCP Diagoras and his twitter (which if you like numbers and do not follow you should go correct):
Quote:There were 53,485 PVP kills in high security space in March. The top alliances: RvB - BLUE (11232), RvB - RED (10659), TEARS (670). That means RvB accounted 41% of high sec PVP losses in March. That's pretty crazy.
Come join the awesomeness that is RvB! |

We are having a great time running around and playing with E-UNI right now! In just over 24 hours RvB and E-UNI have had almost 1,200 kills. Great time and it is really nice to change things up every now and then. Also I really love flying in Purple fleets! |

Jragon Soul wrote:Just a question, if I bounce between Incursions and PvP do I have to leave corp every time, to do said incursions or is there a safe way to do them without being eaten by frigs in my NM while in Corp?
Depending on the location of the incursion you will be safe from other RvBers, however we almost always have third part wars going on and those guys are going to try their best to kill you while missioning or running incursions. :(
We do however have an open door policy so you can come and go as much as you like. |
