Doesnt take a genius to work that one out.
But it seems to me that training times are quite balanced, it would become extremely boring after a month or two if every level of every skill took 8 minutes to train and everyone was skilled to the max in everything.

Because people like me who have been playing for a couple years and have invested nearly a year to fly certain tech 2 ships perfectly (Command ships and whatnot) would get mad if the two month old noob somehow was able to do that now.
I mean, if it was like that at the start, it would be fine, but what would the older players get, that they would want? Nothing really. I'm perfectly happy :)

I really dont see why just because you have been playing longer a noob cant have the same skills to help test bugs etc on the TEST server, ideally everyones test account should have max sp in order to more thoroughly help the devs with testing and bug hunting. Shame people only go on sis to PLAY with stuff.

Edited by: Vrenth on 23/11/2007 01:30:23 If everyone had every skill on test center and everything was free like it is) there would be no need to play on tranqulity, and they would change SISI back after realising nobody wanted to play the real game anymore, because gangs were more fun with everyone in the ship they love, and no risk or loss. No thanks, sounds like the worst idea ever.
P.S. I think that was the most amazing run on sentence evar

Sorry, no easy button for you!
No on decreased skill-training times for so many reasons.
There is no power leveling here in EvE. If anyone wanted that sort of character development and game play, go play those baby games that allow that.
The planning and vision of what your character is and will become based upon the choices you make is a huge part of character development. Not being able to train every skill within a short amount of time insures a degree of diversity.
Many others and myself have invested YEARS into EvE. ItĘs dam right to assume we care and with good reasons! We paid our time in YEARS. Our devotion has paved the way for the new generations and helped developed the community. We have also proven that the current character development works.
That progress best not be condemmed because of an impatient player wanted to whim and taste his way thru EvE before he went on to some other game, leaving us who love EvE with a borked game.
In short, the style of character development in EvE is not broken and if something is not broken, it don't need no fixin.
As for SISI, not granting you max'd SP keeps you intrigued to train for ships and abilities. It's the carrot that keeps you coming back for more.
Just deal.

er no, simply no, giving everyone LV5 doesnt help anyone test anything,
although we dont like it, it is a good thing that there is an expanse of player sp on the test realm,
also because you have never been able to fly that ship you are not that qualified to judge whether there is a bug or not,
Blizzard used to give people well geared lvl70 chars on their test server, all it did was promote "x job is the 'i win button' nerf please" histeria due to low level or poorly equiped players and even bad players using it as proof to support incessant flames,
hence no, dont give everyone Lv5, because you dont know how to use it, and cant be a proper judge of what actually is happening,
btw, i can only fly HAC and below, i count myself in as not being properly qualified to comment on anything above BS

you may not count yourself as being properly qualified to test anything above a bs but someone else might i would rather the someone else who does think they are to test than you so at least tests are being done and your nott just playing on it. i gave up on the test server and bughunting ages ago because all anyone wants to do is practice pvp in the ffa areas its a shame eve might be in a lot better state now if it wasnt for people like you :/

i quit navyfield because playtime didnt equal the ships ability. here, you have to play (or train skills, but even then fitting a ship worth while can be hard ISK BUYERS COME TO LOW SEC IN YOUR SHIELD TANKED MYRMS!)
