A frigate that can web to over 20km with overloaded webs and can easily break 5k/ms itself. That isn't over powered at all! Sure it obsoletes interceptors completely, nerfs recons, and makes several hacs useless as well as significantly alters the general flow of pvp for the worse, but that's fine. I trust the dev who also made such inciteful blog remarks as the sentinels 3x frigate neuts being a "signficant threat to battleships." He 'gets' PVP!

The same effect engendered by the likes of ever larger anchorable bubbles and t2 hac-dictors. Which leads naturally to the ever popular blob effect. Not to mention this ship is so good and powerful it either obsoletes or signifcantly nerfs whole swathes of other ships. Surely it isn't going to make it onto SISI in it's current form? CCP's design decisions recently have been awful.

Remember that there are new players joining Eve all the time, ships like the Hyena are needed to give new players a way of being helpful and also enjoying the game. If it makes you feel any better, the Hyena will be pretty useless as a solo ship... ah heck this has all been said before... can't be arsed to find the other thread and link it.

I've outlined at least twice several aspects of the game affected, other than the jerks running around in vagabonds trying to solo npcers. Why would the devs want to encourage longer, bigger fights. The servers cannot handle the current fights. I'm more inclined to think that they would prefer to legitimise smaller gang pvp. It's assumed that the introduction of the ability to disable station services was to try and give useful objectives to non blob sized gangs in 0.0. Anyway your post is dumb. Most people spend a significant amount of time flying around solo at some point or other. People are rarely exclusively "solo pvpers" any more than they are "gang pvpers." Or do you join a gang every time you undock.

Would you also agree that given that tier 2 battle cruisers are generally better than hacs at gank+tank, that the current last remaining niche of hacs (their manoeuvrability and the ability to nano them) is about to be significantly nerfed? And finally: You talk about gang pvp. Are not Hyena's going to significantly alter the viability of small gangs and limit their roles and methods?

Now if the explanation you put to me is explaining the rest of the OP, i will still go back to the 1 straight fact: this is a game meant for group pvp. If the hyena trumps a nano'd HAC, then its the HAC's fault for not haveing a gang to back him up. Now, if the nano'd hac has a gang with him... then the hyena dies, thus saveing the huginn. I don't see your problem. The problem is with TP's.

Let's be clear here though: No doubt that in the melee of your average big fleet vs fleet fight, all the km ***s in cerbs and muninns and the like will be poppng hyenas left right and centre. Same as they do to ceptors and all other frig for that matter. But in terms of limiting the mobility of smaller, outnumbered gangs, the hyena is amazing. It is a paradigm shift is pinning things down. It will shine like nothing comparable in many circumstances.

I've already stated my problems with the Hyena. I've never been half so dismayed by any previous design decision. It's part of wider trend I'm strongly against. A shame since some of the changes CCP are making seem very interesting. I am posting on an alt due to alliance rules. Any 'insults' I've posted were well earnt.
